irishpump
Im just curious what people think or hope or even possibly know on the subject. I remember that Lucas in the 80's said that he would not be making anymore star wars movies after return of the jedi but about 5 years later he changed his mind and most of us became aware of the future prequels. After he finishes the final installment to the prequels do you think Georgie will take on a future installement of starwars? Id would really like to see a continuation of Luke or maybe see the stories of Kyle Kartarn. If you believe that Lucas is done with star wars movies do you think he will sign the licensing over to someone else who may pick up the ball 20 or 30 years from now? Im just not satisfied lol. I want to hear more stories. When i watch star trek im satisfied because i got to enjoy so many adventures. In star wars i love what i see but i want more. For example in Episode 2, both Annikan and Obi-wan are talking in the elevator about a little adventure they were on. I dont want to hear about it i want to see it. Or when Obi-wan goes to find "his missing planet" he meets up with those really tall species that talk about a clone army they have built for some jedi who had died almost 10 years ago. Well....i want to know how he died...whats the story to that one. You see what i mean? Ive very interested in seeing future installments to one of the greatest series of movies. Does anyone know anything? Or have an opinion? Or have something to say about this? P.S. I really think that Lucas should redo the entire Episode 1 movie. :p :p
XERXES
no, helll be too old...doesnt direct the greatest stuff (it could have been done better, ep 1 and 2) if you are such a star wars fan that you would beg to have 3 more movies...just sit back and relax and read all the novels, there are literally HUNDREDS
-=Arkaine=-
well I read somewhere that that was his original intention Originally posted by XERXES no, helll be too old...doesnt direct the greatest stuff (it could have been done better, ep 1 and 2) if you are such a star wars fan that you would beg to have 3 more movies...just sit back and relax and read all the novels, there are literally HUNDREDS but ill have to agree that he will be to old and hes not directing well with this trilogy hes not focusing on the acting hes more worried about the special FX
Katarn07
He won't. As long as he's alive, I doubt there will be as well. But who knows. EU is good enough to carry on SW IMO. I love the EU.
mace_sundancer
nah, but apparently they're going to do a clone wars cartoon...
Clemme w/Stick
I dont know how many times this has been dicussed over at Star Wars...! Well, I still dont think that he'll do another one. I have to agree with those who think EU is good enough to carry SW, and that SW will be in text in the nearest future. BTW I wanna start reading EU books, any1 who has some suggestions on where to start? -Clemme
Katarn07
The Thrawn Trilogy, Clemme. It is superb. Then the X-Wing books, the NJO is OK (have only read 2 of them so far...) Then the Dark Forces trilogy! All about Kyle da man. And a Clone Wars cartoon does appeal to me. Linkage please.
ImmolatedYoda
Originally posted by mace_sundancer nah, but apparently they're going to do a clone wars cartoon... clone wars cartoon? wtf... id say start off reading EU with the one that started it all, Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn. i finished reading it not too long again, pretty good. nova_wolf
No. Either he doesn't and lives, or he tries too, and me and some of the Swampies go sort the beardy ba$tard out....
mace_sundancer
the clone wars cartoon was mentioned in the british magazine SFX, apparently lucas/his companies have said that episode 3 will begin with the last battle of the clone wars, so, as compensation for us missing out on the clone wars there will be a clone wars cartoon, clone wars-set novels and comics and probably more games too... irishpump
The only thing that ive heard so far is that in 2006 lucas is suppose to release the original trilogy (episodes 4,5,6) in dvd format with all the extras and blahblahblah. But with that was apparently a butt-load of extra scenes that they are going to make into a forth movie called episode 4a. Apparently in the orginal film they had a rogue jawa story that was going on during the first film. Due to size they cut it out. I guess this "jawa" story was over an hour long of different footage. Lucas says he will release extra camera angles of the first film along with it to make it an entire new movie. So its not a new film but its new to us. ....too bad...i would really love to see a film done of kyle katarn. I also found out more info. Lucas said that it would take him another 10 years to do another trilogy so hes saying he doesnt want to and as far as releasing the license to allow others to build on the star wars film, he said and i quote "probably not." Also another thing i will mention about the "episode 4a" is that Lucas said the main reason he wants to add this load of unscene footage to the dvd set is because he "felt he didnt make enough money out of a great idea." Sick...honest...but sick. :(
Katarn07
Dark Forces movie starring Jason Court, the dude from JK cutscenes. I had to whip my manual out for that one... And Gorc, as himself.
Yun the Sith
I personally hope Lucas doesn't, unless he gets another director, cause he's really not good at all.

Sick...honest...but sick. :( Yeah, honest, but kinda sick. We all know that money has a big role in filmaking today. Most films that are continued into a 2nd and 3rd movie is only mad for one reaseon. MONEY! So with that out of the, I cant wait for the DVD release of the Original Trilogy!! -Clemme
irishpump
me too...you just cant beat the original trilogy. Sometimes its just plain upsetting to see characters in the new films that are all Computer graphics. So far i think count dooku has been the only real refreshing addition to the starwars movie screen.

Reborn Outcast
Ok but it makes it easier to understand (in my opinion) if you start from the beginning. And George won't make anymore Star Wars movies but someone else might.
mace_sundancer
well if you want to start at the beginning technically you should start with drth maul: shadow hunter... and there's the jedi apprentice books too... then rogue planet, the approaching storm, the han solo trilogy, the han solo series, the lando calrissian series, splinter of the mind's eye and tales of the mos eisley cantina and shadows of the empire, tales of the bounty hunters and tales from jabba's palace... Taos
No, I don't think we will see any more movies after ep III. Damn it anyways..... I really don't want to see a Star Wars cartoon.

God damn that stupid flaming twat! That is SUCH a bad idea.... The only place where any episode should be slipped in is between EpV & EpVI (Yes, I do mean SOTE. I just added so much depth to the continum & characters, and had some great sequences.) I hope this never comes to pass.... And now, I can see my self boycotting the DVD release. HELL! I'm tempted to get the original VCDs and rip them onto DVD - now THEY would sell! Be worth the law suit to see the look on Georges face when my home made Original Release DVDs out strip his Special Extended Epsiode Added Edition by 10 to 1! Darth Groovy
There is no way in hell. After all the backlash he has had? Why should he? This is the end of Star Wars. Hopefully he has better luck with the next project he takes on.
BCanr2d2
With the money he has made from SW, ILM, THX and Skywalker Sound, he has no need to continue to do more SW movies. He stated in a TV interview, that whilst he said it would be the last ones made whilst he was still alive, it wont stop his children from doing more once he is gone ( I am sure once Ep 3 is done we can organise a mob hit!! ). He is going off to satisfy his creative urges by doing things that no film studio would even try to finance, his companies make enough for him to be able to do it. Some may be direct to TV stuff, others may never make it out of the Skywalker Ranch. For someone who bankrolls all his own films, who are we to complain if he does them the way he sees fit, or stops them when he feels he is done with them. He doesn't have to answer to News Ltd in regards to anything about SW (They now only distribute the movies), unlike LOTR and the need for New Line to be pleased with it in the end. BTW I will believe what will be on the OT DVD's when I see an official announcement from Lucasfilm, and will not play into what will and wont be included. Only thing I will enter into will be the bet that it will be in October 2007 (I think 24th or 26th to the day) on the 30th Anniversary of SW when they will be released in their final form, with all the add on bits he wants on the movies and the DVD's... Well yea but some of those are VERY hard to find and I found the Han Solo trilogy pretty boring. Also, the Tales of the Bounty Hunters and all those are just little short stories. Just start anywhere you want Clemme.
