Swat
dooku used 2 lightsabers when fighting yoda in aotc pictures n the deleted scenes frm ep2 can be found here at http://www.theforce.net/episode2/cut/
Taos
I know, that would have been sweet to see! I think one of the reasons why it wasn't in the final version was that they couldn't come up with a good enough reason for Dooku to have a second saber. That's what I heard anyways...... Boba Rhett
They totally should have kept it in the film. It would have shown just how great Yoda was. Anakin gets owned by Dooku even when he uses two> Dooku gets owned by Yoda even when he uses two. Would have been awesome.
leXX
It would have great because all these Dooku fanboys who think he's the best thing since sliced bread would have no argument if he lost to Yoda with 2 sabers. Damn, why didn't GL leave it in?!
Hannibal
When you look at the commentary on the DVDs you can kind of see the way GL thinks. I think they dropped it because Anakin had already fought Dooku with 2. At some point they mentioned not wanting to repeat the same themes. It sucks because Yoda was supposed to have owned Dooku and it would have been made alot clearer if he needed to grab that extra saber.
Darth Simpson
But why the hell isn't it a deleted scene on the DVD? Instead we get some lame-ass scenes with Anakin and Padme. Huge disappointment.

Also in EP II there was a scene where Plo KOon and a team of Jedi go to the droid control ship to try to shut off the droids but are captured. It seems to me that he is always looking to do special editions and maybe he is saving that stuff for later.
Taos
I agree completely DS, I thought the deleted scenes were just worthless. The other major scene I would have liked to watch would be the rumored raid on a droid control ship by Plo Koon and Ki-Adi-Mundi. Sounds like it was quite a battle. Darth Simpson
Who wouldn't want to see Plo Koon kick some battledroid ass? Well, apart from Lucas.

dark jedi 8
AAAAAHhhhHHhhhhh!! damn that lucas! those were both great sceces along with the longer clone war scenes, like the clones on speeders and more vehicles being shown! oh well there's always the "special edition" versions. Thrift
Hmm I dunno. I reckon it would have reduced the spectacle and significance of seeing Anakin use two sabres if we saw Dooku use two shortly after. If you overuse an impressive visual feature like two sabres at once, it dulls its ability to evoke excitement in the audience. That scene in the darkness with Anakin wielding two blades and Dooku swiftly despatching him was real edge of your seat stuff. To use it again would have just diminished it in my opinion. It’s similar to Darth Maul only using the single blade on his double-sabre in his first fight in TPM. I'm sure that was for narrative reasons as much as for anything. Lucas is a master story-teller, in this instance I reckon he made the right call. Though of course the other reason it may have been cut could be that the footage wasn't too impressive. Lee is a fairly old man after all, and I'm sure that made much of the fight-footage quite difficult to obtain. The unused duelling scenes may not have been too crash hot. Though with stunt-doubles and special effects I find this unlikely. But I do agree that I reckon it would have been great to have seen that raid by Plo Koon and Ki-Adi Mundi in with the extra-footage. I think a lot of the additional footage for AOTC was a little dry. I still haven't seen the extra footage for TPM, was that any good?
Lord Glorfindel
I like this one better then the other one. And also I think Yoda was shown superior in the regular version of AOTC, cause when Dooku attacked him with lightning and Yoda absorbed the lightning and then shot it back, Dooku didn't absorb the power he diverted it, diverting force is much less powerful then absorbing the force, I believe Dooku COULDN'T absorb so powerful a blast of lightning but he could only divert the lightning instead. Guest Jed
Looking at that picture, the second saber isn't curved like Dooku's red lightsaber... Could that mean that he got that blue lightsaber from somebody else? *wonders*
Taos
Right 220 that blue saber was not his and that's what I was talking about in my earlier post - they couldn't think of a good story as to how/why Dooku got that second saber. From what I've read, if I remember correctly it might have been Anakins after Dooku cut off his arm.......

dark jedi 8
If you watch the extra footage on the AOTC dvd, disk 2 i think, the stunt double for lee did a pretty good job with the 2 sabers. It was one of the documenterys.
Jedi Apprentice
It's always funny to see people get mad or frustrated at GL. But then sometime or another people think Hey! if he wasn't here we wouldnt have all this. I think we'll see these scenes in some special edition something or another. GL is a marketing genius. He'll do the right thing. (hopefully )
Guest Jed
Will GL do the right thing? I'm not sure, you're right about him being a marketing genius, but he has to be pretty stupid not including that extra scene
Darth Simpson
You're right, you're right, he'll probably release an 'extra-super-special DVD edtion' or something later on, just to suck even more cash out of the consumers pockets. I've completely lost respect for the man.
Hannibal
If you guys remember he wasn't going to release any DVDs until Ep III was made. Then he was going to release a box set of all 6 DVDs. So maybe after 3 is released he'll do the box set with the Special Edition extras. BTW the fact that he was going to wait to release the DVDs makes me wonder is he still truly a marketing genious? He only changed his mind because of the demand from fans. That could have been a big mistake if he hadn't changed his mind.
Aerothorn
Um, actually, it would have been HARDER to fight Yoda with 2 sabers....there are reasons practiclly no Jedi use 2. Bah I hated that whole scene anyway. All the people in the theatre starting make cheers and grunts and it just ruined the entire film for me. Project U
EPISODE II could have done alot better as a three hours movie, just like LOTR. I think EPISODE III will be 3 hours.
