What is going to be done when it comes to clans

I don't know for a fact about clans but theres definelty going to be faction houses. But common sense tells me why wouldn't there be clans. There are in every MMORPG. All you would have to do is choose a leader, make a code of conduct, and recruit members. Now as for houses you just need to recruit and architect and have them build a little clan village, and then put up a wall around it with some defenses to keep the other nasty clans out. From what I've heard thats how its supposed to work.

All that has been said before my post is true. I think you should check out the official FAQ's here: http://www.starwarsgalaxies.com You'll know just about as much as me or for that matter anyone else who has read them. For the most part that's where a lot of information that we post about is drawn from- that and dev posts along with beta posts.

OK. PA's are definately a go. Check out the Player Assosiations page on SWGalxies.net. There are loads.

 

As far as i know, it is certainly possible for a PA to have a bank account and all the members donate funds to it in-game. Thus allowing the PA to save up for, say, a ship?

I dont think they will have clans like in other MMORPG's where there is a allegience mansion and everyone can recall to it. I think there gunna have it so the faction lives near eachother(if you want to) and given with that the maitenece you have to pay goes down when you live near other people.

There will be clans, they just arn't called that. :)

 

They are called PA's, or Player Associations.

 

I think you guys are missunderstanding the 2 terms.

 

Faction:

Different sides, batteling or competing against eachother.

In this case, the Rebel faction, and the Imperial faction.

Those who do not chose a side/faction, are neutral.

 

Player Associations:

A group of people who have come together to form a community with a (or several) common goal(s). Also known as clans or guilds.

PA's also have the option to allign themself to a faction. Once a PA has decided what side it wants to serve, all members will be part of that side, Imperial or rebel.

The PA can remain neutral if it wants. It is not mandatory for a PA to choose a side.

The same goes for individual people.

And yes, PA's will have a "PA Hall", it's one of the things you need to create a PA. However, you can (after a patch) build a town around it. Then things get more complicated, as a player-built town has sort of it's own life outside the PA, with a separate political system etc. Spicy, indeed!

I used to be in a PA on myth of soma.And from what i've read on swgalxies site and official forum's is that in future update's they will be adding more on for PA's to do like a group ofthem storm a rebel base etc.

 

And a quick note there is going to be a bank thing as that's how people you accept missions off send you the money,and you can also do unofficial missions like say if someone say's kill that person for me then yup say ok send 100 clams to my account that's how they would do it :)

At the moment, personal homes and PA Hall is the only ones. The PA built cities will be put into the game a bit after the release, in a patch. Since we are supposed to be able to build totally independant towns, expect things like cantinas, cloning stations, different shops, barracks, defences and perhaps even eventually a starport. But then, these are all guesses, nothing but personal homes and PA Halls are planned for release, so we'll just have to see. But yeah, the things needed for a functional town should be buildable.
