SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - May 2, 2003 - Following its rich tradition of intelligently crafted gameplay and wry humor, LucasArts announces Armed & Dangerous, a blast-happy action game about a smack-talking group of gun-toting rebels, a ridiculously impossible quest, and weapons that cause really, really big explosions. The game is being developed in conjunction with Planet Moon Studios and is expected to release winter 2003 for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and PC.

Based on a true story, players take on the role of Roman, a cockney criminal mastermind and leader of a gang of accidental heroes known as the Lionhearts. Armed to the hilt with an arsenal of outrageously powerful firearms, Roman and his crew of Robin Hood wannabes - Jonesy, Q1-11, and Rexus - set out to pull off the ultimate heist and are unwittingly drawn into a rebellion against a tyrant king. In the process the Lionhearts learn some treasures aren't worth stealing and some things are more valuable than gold.

Full press release here.

And the official site.

So this is the Planet Moon game. Well, Giants was one of the best games I've ever played, so this one sure is interesting.

Has everyone seen the new Gold Guy animation for KOTOR yet? It's pretty good, but I think they could have done a better one.....one that gives the game more justice, but oh well. :D

I must say that I'm very impressed with the line-up LEC will be bringing to E3 this year...the only one that I'm not too excited about would be FT2.......but I do want to check out the rest of them. :)

Looks like a very interesting game and if Com gave it praise it must be worth a look. :D

From the screen it almost looks like a strategy game.

Is it? :p

I thought it said a trigger happy game which equals shooter to me. Maybe I am wrong again though........:p

Giants, the last game from Planet Moon also was very trigger happy, but it had a few strategic elemnts in some of itslevels :)

Totally agreed. That wasn't really that good. :(

But it'll have to do! :D

Thanks for the heads-up on A&D. It looks very intriguing, and if it's from the same stable as Giants, then I'll be watching with interest to see how it pans out. :)

I hope it's as tongue-in-cheek as it sounds. :D

The graphics are quite smart too.

Hmm, can't agree with you there...

How do you want to do the game more justice in a few second flas animation that is required to have the Gold Guy in it?

I think the Knights one was one of the coolest so far...

I agree with you there Com I did like it.....but I just thought they could do better. The one they did looks pretty generic IMHO......it could be applied to almost anything Star Wars.

What I think that would have been cool to see would be something similar to the Secret Weapons over Normandy - how they pulled back and gave a wide shot.......ok well, I wanted to see a wide shot that showed three gold guys working together in the kotor three-party system. Have one with a blaster, one with a single blade and one with a double bladed saber - in action would seriously kick butt! :D

Showing that right there would be more Kotor......again IMO. ;);P

I have to admit, that Gold Guy animation was one of the best yet. :D

Any linkage to your sources, Leemu? Or was it just high up hear say? Anyways I believe you.....;):p

I think a GB2 would be very cool. But I hope they would make a new engine for it and not just slap a layer of SW onto an existing engine. :)

I still want JPB2 though! Just think of the awesome combat system they could put into it!

*drools*

*waits for Lynk to say I hope you choke on your drool* :p
