UnfrozenCaveman
Me, I'm a big Man Utd. fan. I started following them when everyone was cheering "ooo ahhh cantana!" Eng- Man Utd. Or L'Pool The wierd thing is, i follow different teams in different tourney's. Like UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, i go for Man Utd. or Real Madrid. Last year I was going for L'Pool in UEFA Cup. Anways, which clubs do you follow?

setsuko
There is only one answer. LUND BK - KRUBBAN ALL THE WAY! Yup, the guys in yellow almost got to the first division (southern first division), and this year, they might very well get there. I mean, what's Manchester U and Roma compared to a local football team that you can watch, cheer for and yell at on a weekly basis, and on location. Rooting for a team that I don't have that connection with, dunno... it's just... weird?
UnfrozenCaveman
I agree Set. I enjoy watching Man Utd. and the champions leauge. But nothing compares to going to your local team and cheering and swearing at them for playing dumb and stuff. There's a team in our area who cleans the A-League up. The A-League i the league below Major League Soccer, for those who don't know. Personally, I don't like watching MLS as much as I like watching Euro football. We have a lot of latin influenced football here, and I'd much rather see the 4-4-2 formation and the control than the wild, erratic play that most latin teams play with. Not to mention a few washed up Euros like stoyakovic, and lothar mattaus (only one year). Not to say MLS is bad, I'd just rather watch euro football if both are on at the same time. As for our local team Rochester Rhinos (I think the naming system in US soccer is gay), I love watching them!
setsuko
LOL! Yes, if our clubs had names like "Lund Llamas", "Malmö Mavericks" etc, I too would have a harder time taking the sport seriously! In latin football, there is much beauty in the individual feats. But in German or English football... it's a team. That is much more interesting to follow, I agree. UnfrozenCaveman
Exactly, I like the team aspect more than just the individual. But, of course, everyone loves to see one player have a great run and finish it up with hitting net. That's what makes the whole world cup so awesome! The fact that there's different styles of football played by each country. And watching which style wins and loses. I can't wait till 2006, world cup Germany! I'm there- GO USA, beat Portugal!! You gotta admitt. Nobody gave USA a shot. And just like in the 2000 olympics we did great. Everyone thought we'd be like we were in '98 with that absurd 4-5-1 formation against Germany. It was a sad day for US football to see that. That coach was an ignoramus. I wanted to take him out to the streets and beat him. We looked like fools...but who's laughing now? Surely not Portugal?!! haha.
setsuko
Yes, it is good to see that the US are finally getting good at football (if you don't count their female team, they've always kicked ass). Who knows, perhaps one day football will mean 'a ball you kick with your feet, not carry around' in american english too!

UnfrozenCaveman
Yeah, USA, CHINA, NORWAY have always been strong in women's soccer. How's Nott doing this year? They going to get promoted? It's been what, 4 years since they were in the Top Flight? I have a little theory, why here in the US we call it soccer and not footy. I think we just wanted to piss off the brits at the time. I mean, it's football and that's the only reason why I can think we would call it soccer. If anyone knows the real reason, please tell.
Obi Peg
Liverpool FC for life! Wer'e on a roll now and can easily grab 3rd spot when we beat Chelsea last game of the season I just hope we clear out some of the players who are useless and bring in one or two known players with the ability to create something! Exar_reborn
Ok I'll give it to you, Manchester United freakin owns the big ones. I don't really think that anyone would be able to beat them. well nvm people have but I would say over in Champions and spanish league I go for Real Madrid. AC milan traded Ronaldo to them 2 years ago, they've been doing pretty well. But I can't wait for Aug. 2nd. I'm going to see Manchester United vs. Barcelona in Philly. Gonna be sick. My man Luis Enrique (very good right winger) is gonna tear it up. (I'm a big soccer freak) lol. Anyway you guys should watch some south american club teams. Really good and fun to watch cause they kill eachother.

Don't forget that Sweden ranks among the best teams when it comes to women's football, too! They rank way better than the men's team, which ranks 20th in the world. Sure, good for a country with 9 million inhabitants, but it could be better (like in 1994! Bronze in the world cup! We\ll live on that forever!). UnfrozenCaveman
Okay, I'm going to be really stereotypical for a second... I LOVE the SWEDES!! At least the women. I did happen to see every game played by the Swedish Women team in last world cup. And let me tell you, I wish I was in Sweden right now! Blonde hair, blue eyes, tan skin...oooohhh yeah. UnfrozenCaveman
However, I should go on the record: I have a girlfriend, and let me tell you, she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. And the thought of cheating on her is horrible. I hate it how I see guys playing girls and all, it's just plain wrong.
