Drk Posted May 18, 2003 Posted May 18, 2003 Sure is! -The plot itself is more dramatic & twisted -Vital role of voodoo rituals and generally : supernatural -Guybrush is kind of more ruthless fellow , than he used to be in the first part : treats Elaine instrumentaly , Stan+coffin , gravedigging stuff and more... -sinister ending

Yufster Posted May 18, 2003 Posted May 18, 2003 Definately. I loved the plot of MI2. It was so deep and there are so many ways at looking at the ending. MI1 felt a tiny but shallow in comparision.

Reaper Girl Posted June 17, 2003 Posted June 17, 2003 As we say in the underworld, darker is better. MI2 was good because it wasn't afraid to have voodoo and zombies in your pretty face. And the last part was definatly much better then the last bits of MI1. AND YOU GET TO NAIL STAN!!!
Ray Jones Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 I wouldnt say darker.. but deeper, more intense, grown up like (yes guybrush is now some way older).. and you cannot really compare MI1 and MI2 .. and both games are very, very funny. from insultswordfights to getting arrested by the cannibals, from largo voodoodoll to spitcontest and Elaines party with Guybrush the dog..
Gabez Posted June 21, 2003 Posted June 21, 2003 Well, SOMI's pretty dark too of course. With the whole death of Guybrush under water, and the sinister woods, and the ghosts. Sure it's funny but the subject matter is still quite "dark". Mi2 just builds on that.

Destructomatic Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Yeah I'm with you locke, ive played the game a lot of times and dont remember a screaming chair.......so please some jar my memory. I'm sure I'd remember it if someone told me where it is..... I also agree that MI2 is a lot darker and twised. I don't really consider MI4 a Monkey Island game it is so pathetic. But MI3 was my fav.....although the 1st and 2nd followed a different plot.......which I've heard is a huge debate in itself.
