Anakin1607
Since this game will offer unparreled design customization to its players, it's only a matter of time before the mod community makes the jump to Jedi fashion design. Search your feeling, you know it to be true! Honestly, I can't wait to play this game, and once I beat it. I'm going to be spending most of my time with it downloading new clothes/sabers to totally pimp out my Jedi killing machine. So here's your chance to request the snazziest outfits for your Jedi or Sith Wannabe! The only rule is it must be somewhat plausable outfit to wear in the star wars universe, i.e. a tommy hilfigure waredrobe isn't going to cut it (who'd want to anyway?), a KISS costume on the other hand may actually fit depending on the planet you were on. Again, this is costume only, no heads. Dark Jedi: Soldius Snake's power armor. In a word? Sweet. Technology wise this is possible in star wars, i.e. Phase III Dark Trooper and the armored collar gives it a real meanacing Sith type feel. The armor would also make getting slapped with a lightsaber and living a "little" more beleivable. Here's a picture... http://www.metalgearextreme.com/images/chara_solidus.gif Dark Jedi: Vincent's Syndicate outfit from Cowboy Bebop. Say what you want about his moral character, but you've got to admit, the guy is a snappy dresser. It manages to combine almost a regal feel with a dark warrior motiff. Great coloring with gold trim on black trenchcoat. Alien crow optional. Here's what it looks like... http://www.discountanimedvd.com/poster_detail.asp?dvdno=1788 He's the mean looking guy on the right. Okay, post your pick! Matariel
haha, jedi fashion? i thought it was just the brownish robes for light jedi and black robes for dark jedi im getting wierd images in my head of jedi parading down a catwalk now, so i'll stop here.... Anakin1607
Come one, where would Dooku and Vader be without good fashion sense. The "Old Sckool" Jedi are long dead. Long live the flashy Jedi!
SlapNut
well, id like a guy with a trench coat (i think there is one), or a Smith type suit in matrix. Better still, a guy with a purple silk shirt and silver pants, or any cool stylish clothing. But since i gotta chose something starwars like, i'd have to go with the trench coat with various colours to match a saber colour.
HertogJan
Flashy Jedi... *sigh* You want JA to be an anime manga fashion contest or something??? I say this thread sucks No personal offense of course
Matariel
jedi arent meant to be flashy, they're supposed to be fairly anonymous- just hanging around the shadows, not drawing attention to themselves, unless the attention is needed. Brown or Black robes is all they need I dont think they had bright colours in the star wars universe anyway...and if i saw any jedi running around with bright colours, i'd just wanna cap 'em like those stupid looking teeniebopper clones... ...must...resist...homocidal....tendancies.... <shaking> take medication take medication
Toa Tahu
I agree with HertogJan.A Jedi should not have flashy/attractive design. What counts is the heart, and your soul as a Jedi.
Prime
I do like the traditional Jedi style, but I'd like to be able to tweek the colours to make them darker.
Smood
DOOKU's CAPE IS ALL I WILL EVER NEED. But I need the cape to flow in the wind, so whether they make it happen in the engine or not is yet to be seen.
Demolisher
Dark outfits that look cool, but most important have gloves. I think gloves make jedi outfits look cooler. I like the Jedi Training gear figures that hasbro made; http://www.artoosnews.com/potjpics/quitrainer.jpg and http://www.artoosnews.com/potjpics/trainobi.jpg Somebody had made a skin based on the Obi-Wan one, but didn't put gloves on him and that made it less cool. I guess I'm talking like X-Men meets Blade meets Star Wars type outfits.
Anakin1607
People opposed to this thread suck, no offense of course. If you don't like the idea, get lost. Anyway, a good example of a flashy Jedi outfit is Anakin's. Far from traditional Jedi style. Groovy Jedi training gear! I'd use that one for sure. Reminds me of the concept art for Obi Wan! I like the Matrix idea too, keep them coming people. Ah ha! Another great Jedi outfit would be Luke's Dark Empire outfit! Here's a great picture of it. http://www.dormanart.com/Rolling_Thunder/swde2.htm Don't **** with the Jedi Master!
Matariel
anikin's outfit (episode 2 outfit) looks pretty jedi generic to me...no hypercolour T-shirt or reflective strips its all pretty basic... But things like the matrix costumes in SP will just look silly and out of place, make em for MP by all means, but not for SP PS. Watch the final scenes of Ep2 in the Arena where all the Jedi appear, you'll see the variation in their costume design, from brown robes, to brown robes, to the very outrageous brown robes. SlapNut
who cares? this isnt real starwars, this is normal people wanting to have fun, i want a jedi with cool looking clothes, i hate the boring ones in the movies, i want this game to be fun and colourful, not plain and dull. Matariel
but bright and flashy clothes look really out of place with a jedi holding a lightsabre, it doesnt fit the genre at all...contemperizing star wars just looks tacky at best. Besides, the dark shadowy look is really really cool in my opinion. I hate the bright flashy colours some comic book heroes use, and it certainly doesnt fit the Jedi image well at all
Anakin1607
HertogJan, Matariel. Why are you guys tripping on the idea of having cool, flashy clothes for Jedi? Would seeing someone with that kind of gear "disturb" your Star Wars expereince? Serriously, lighten up. No one likes a party pooper. 90% of the stuff posted so far has been awesome, and mostly for darksiders who I might add, have the most flashy fashion sense in Star Wars. If you don't like it, don't play with those skins. Isn't that simple? So if you're just going to continue restating your opinion over and over again, can you just please take your complaints elsewhere? No one's forcing you to read this thread. Thanks a lot. Anyway, back on topic. I found some more really cool threads. Tom Cruise's Cowboy/Samurai clothes from "The Last Samurai". http://www.impawards.com/2003/last_samurai.html http://www.joblo.com/upcomingmovies/2003/lastsamurai.htm Now tell me you wouldn't want to kick dark Jedi butt dressed like that! Stormtrooper X: I have a feeling that is isn't going to be nessicary to even "request" those skins. After all, they're movie characters. Someone's bound to make them anyway. I'll still use them in the game though.
Matariel
this is an open forum, so i'll post my opinions wherever i darn please I'm just saying that dressing up Jedi as anime characters or comic book characters is just not going to work- ive seen it before and it looks really really stupid. The Last Samuri pictures look alright (well, arent Jedi just samuri anyway?), but its almost the same kind of costumes they wear now. One other thing, are you saying in this thread that these are suggestions for Raven to make models/skins for the game? or for people to make custom clothing when the game comes out? Tyler_Durden
I for one have a few ideas that i'm drawing down. One is a jedi robe similar to anakins except that the leather part that goes over the shoulders is like a dark red with some black embroidery on it. The under robe however is black. Would look awesome on a sith. I am most likely going to introduce it in a mod i am working on for this game. Some good ideas would be to look at historical figures like the samurai and different myths and legends around the world. As star wars is a myth based property i think most mythical ideas would look the most fantastic. For those that want trench coats, maybe a variation on the coat, just with that special star wars touch. Hell i already have a few ideas on how i would do that. Maybe try some armor for shoulder pads or put decals on the lapels of the coat. Remember star wars is a place where you can use your imagination, there are no rules in terms of design, i mean it doesn't exactly have to come from lucas himself in order for it to fit in the universe. Gee i wonder what the hardcore geeks are gonna do when lucas dies........

Anakin1607
Hmm... Perhapes some type of Spartan armor for Jedi Academy students from "Primative" planets like Dathomir? Matariel: Either or in answer to your question.
Anakin1607
Another nifty "historical" uniform. Would be great for any Jedi. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00004U3UK.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg Feel the pain Sith mofos!
Tyler_Durden
that was a pretty cool design. On one note, that female twi lek jedi was not inconspicuous at all i mean she had a barely there top which exposed her midriff and a short, tights. She must've been pretty popular at the academy.
