that's kinda stupid. "human creation stuff"? what the hell? i'm probably on the wrong train of thought here, and i'm probably gonna make a fool of myself cause i misunderstood or something, but i don't think anybody's like "hey, let's go make the matrix and hook people up to it" and stuff. that's really dumb. it was probably some commi that didn't like it and just banned it.

If someone took me away from my happy comfort zone and tried to shove a plug into my head they'd get a serious bitch slapping.

The director of artistic censorship, Madkur Thabet, said that "despite its excellent technical level, the film was banned because it deals with subjects like human existence and creation.

"And these are questions linked to the three monotheistic religions that we respect and which we believe in," Thabet added. "These questions have in the past provoked crises and tension."

the reasone for the banning seems pretty clear to me: religion.

i have to agree with Karl Marx in this one, religion sucks! (Well, this wasnt exactly his words, i ve added some spice :D)

Why would they ban The Matrix you ask? The world is a screwed up place, thats why. For example:

[*]In a supposedly free and democratic nation, Australian censors ban movies like Baise-Moi, meaning that the Australian government does not believe that discerning adults are able to decide what entertainment media they watch;

[*]Similarly, there is no R18+ rating for video games in Australia. Games like GTA and BMXXXare banned unless they are edited,

[*]and video games are banned completely in Greece!

[/list=a]

Doesn't seem as strange anymore does it.

Most religion seeks to control large masses, and I think a lot of religions are like communism. In fact, religion is like a form of government. The irish catholic church for one was above the law until a few years ago, and loved condemning things that people enjoyed. I think it was the russian government that went overboard and persucuted those who were not athiest. It just doesn't work. People don't need religious organisations to amplify their beliefs, but they don't question their religion a lot, especially not in countries where the religion forms a large portion of their law.

The banned of the Matrix is also being associated in Eygpt with the level of violence but to be honest, what percentage of people are going to run off and kill people after seeing it? A lot of people like blaming violence on videogames and movies; Why not look towards the parents, the schools and more importantly, the type of society they live in. Especially one run by a government that craves control.
