Eggplant is The New Pink!

*note please don't flame or dis

this thread was not intended for such*

most of us are slaves to fashion.

in the nicest possible way.

and sometimes the more things change

the more they stay the same.

so what I want to know is

all those little secrets only your hair dresser knows.

I mean how are you wearing your hair these days?

how often do you change it?

style.lenght.color?

and how many dews have you had.

and if and when you change your lid

do you go out and buy a matching pair of shoes

and a purse to match?

I will go first.

as a kid almost to tween years,

even into tweens years I wore my hair

in a really short brush cut.

I liked the fuzzy and free look.

at first it was parents

making sure my hair was

cheap and easy to maintain

but later as I began to develope a fashion sence,

I liked it fuzzy. then I joined for a while the cubs

and the air cadets so the hair stayed fuzzy.

as I got older there was that unfortunate disco era

perm thing, man o man I look at obi-wans sig banner

and shudder, I mean Hyde on the 70's show suits

the fro, many others such as Bob donna's father do not.

I was a bob for a very short time.

then came head shops heavy metal and long hair.

and i dyed it blonde alot. but that was my Paul Williams era

cause with long blonde hair and aviator glasses that were

the style and I use to wear a long black tail coat,

everyone thought I was paul Williams.

I even had people in Disney World come up to me

and ask me for my autograph.

with the long hair I also wore black alot.

never had a green parka or wore ska clothing.

always longed to be a goth

but new and respected the code:

there is no such thing as a danny devito goth.:D

i stayed away from flourescent clothing, speedo's

and other cool extreme gear. though some of the stuff

looks good the skater stuff not the flourescent happy

speed walker aeorbics clothing.

today my wardrobe is mainly casual stuff from various

catelogues, ruggy shirts, t shirts, just plain non descript stuff

I try to avoid brand names if i can.

i had the adidas clothes

never got into nike. or roots.

i dont like wearing stuff that everyone

else buys and wears

at wall mart or zellers or sears.

i have one ear piercing and no tatoos

i think tattoos look good on the right people

as do some piercings. but with thought to

quality of design and such not quantity

just to prove how unique you are.

i like hats and look good in almost any kind.

i still like black but also like earth tones

browns and greens or grey

yellow frightens me:eek:

blue on jeans is good kind of okay with blue

and red for that matter, but dont really own

any primar colors.

i like turtle necks and wear them

with the turtle thing> what do you call it.

the neck of the turtle

I wear it up to cover my neck as I am more

into UV enviroment protection rather than fashion

these days. I would rather be warm and comfortable

than cold and cool looking.

(i also think the turtle neck thing comes from reading

Love and Rockets. I remeber the little bald kid with

the turtle necks and floopy sleeves *i like those too,

floppy sleeves.* he was always into Disney Land.

one time the kids found a playboy magazine and ass the other

kids drooled over the naked playmates he stood aside

throwing sticks muttering; MIckey Mouse & Disney Land

is way better than that.);) a slight insight into the insides of

an eggplants head. even today I think hard drives should be filled with funny cat video's or parody posters or funny cartoons or sound bytes or anything fun, neat, humerous and goofy; and NOT Pornographic. to many people waste the web with stuff like that.

anyhow recently about 3 to 4 months ago, my neices' day care had a slight scare witha possible head lice incident. it turned out none of the kids had it, a kid turned up having scoriesses. that head scalp itching thing, but it spooked me enough to take the dog clippers and shave my head again. and now that it is peach fuzz again, kind of zen monkish I like it. it also happens to be kind of sort of almost in fashion which makes me laugh cause it's not like i try to be a slave to fashion. anyhow I like the zen monk thing and am going to keep it for a while it is easy to maintain. I am also glad that the age of skin heads at least where i live has sort of passed because i would not want to be attacked for being a skin head. cause i dont have and suspenders or doc martin boots.

the last and only thing i have had for several years now is a mustache and goatee. both kept trimmed nice and neat

not like some of these goat boy character\slackers i see on tv.

anyhow eggplant is the new pink.

so who else wants to flaunt themeselves

in front of the fashion police?

i'm sorry but i don't think that was that good, you need to rhyme more often instead of just tellin a story and hitting enter periodically, that's just my opinion though, cuz to me it was just you telling what it was like for your hair (that's all i read cuz i couldn't stand it anymore) and it didn't even flow together rythmically or anything like that, just work on it then post it again

also, i live on the wind river indian reservation and have a bald head, we just recently had one of those white suppremicist groups 30 miles away, and I haven't been attacked yet so i don't think there's much of a chance for anyone else to be

(to those who don't understand what i just said about the bald head. the white suppremicist group HATED indians and had bald heads, i shaved mine for state swimming and i live RIGHT NEXT DOOR to indians, they're my neighbors and live ALL around me and knew about the group, i got some hateful looks but nobody attacked me or said much anything to me so it's a pretty good bet that "pink" will be ok)

I've had the same hairdo most of my life. I part it on the left side, and let the right side kinda do it's own thing. It's a little bit wavy, and mostly low maintanince. The only other time I've had a different style was when I was a baby I guess......

@ep2anikin - Eggy always posts in the Haiku form.

You know, not all poetry has to rhyme. In fact, the majority of it doesn't. You may just be used to some Dr. Seuss type stuff, but try and expand your mind (even if Eggplant is a little weird... ok, very weird).

Then again, "One man's trash is another man's treasure," so it's possible you just don't like that type of poetry. I know my little quote didn't rhyme... I hope you can read it. ;):D

*if you want to see Eggplant poetry, sort of like Vogon poetry at it's best or worst go to the GFN Grim fandango network, my home forum, go look under the Blue casket and dig up old threads. I practically live there and inflict membership with poetry galour cause the Blue casket in the game Grim fandango is a beatnik club. anyhow for ep2's benifit and thanks for the compliment Z, here is a poem for you all.*

[align=center]

MORE OR LESS POETRY

Moo Goo Gi Pan

Dessert Camels

Japan

Marmalade in frying pans

things that all do Rhyme;

Poetry is not really that

owning useless, Siamese Cats

unless your wallet's good and fat

wearing stylish Fedora hats

people still Believe , Poetry is A-B-C

Holy Ghost and Trinity

Flowers, Trees, Birds, Bees;

things that Rhyme up three:

Keeping your Eyes on your Fries

Flying Friendly United Skies

nothing going beyond the Rhyme

Non-Rhyme being a Crime

Non-Rhyme, a Prose

not Poetry, not a Rose

look at trash like this,

Poetry is more than this;

give a Whale a Kiss

Rhyme one for the Critics,

Bats in your Attic, People having Fits

when

You

break Up

the Rhyme

stop

And make

them Think,

broaden Their minds

From The

Traditional

A-B-A-B

to: X-Cab-Secret-lab

things made up

things Prefab

rambling on endlessly

using words that end in Z

Is this what you want you want to See?

Is this what was meant to Be?

Dr. Suess the Modern Poet

Rhymes so well we all know it

sometimes I Rhyme

sometimes I Do Not

Does that make me less a Poet?

that was a good one, it made me smile, probably because it seems like you're getting mad at my comment, oh well, i'm just saying if you're gonna be the next pink then you need to make SONGS and NOT poems because she makes SONGS and SINGS them and sells them, and her stuff RHYMES, so you can't say you will be the next pink if you aren't gonna make songs that rhyme

just a thought, could you read that eldritch? or too logical for you ;)

Nah, it's kinda hard when you don't break it up with a period, y'know? Take a breath, think about what you're going to say, then keep talking. ;) So... no, it wasn't logical.

And I think you missed the point of the thread. He's not talking about Pink the singer/songwriter. Pink in this case is a metaphor for things that used to be taboo - correct me if I'm wrong here, Eggy. :)

Nice poem by the way, Egg-nik. Way to make your point against the "rhyming=poetry" argument.

There's not much to understand. It's more of an art form than a way of writing, really.

A lot of it is symbolic, so read through it and try and see if you can find the message the author was trying to pass along. You may have to hunt for it, but it's always there.

There's a lot of poetry that doesn't mean anything at all though... Trying to understand that is a waste of time! Personally, I think poetry is mostly a waste of time. It consists of people trying to imitate other people's style; making sentences that look odd and there you have it; poetry

where do i come up with this stuff?

way too much time on my hands.:D

no i don't know i just sort of think or rather free fall mentally.

as for the Pink thing, yes it was not the artist Pink, I did not think about that, but I could see how since she is a current artist people could think that. it's just the phrase 'the new pink'

I mean you catch it in films and pop culture

legally Blonde Elle Woods "I talked cameron dias out of buying this hideous orange angora sweater, who ever said orange was the new pink, was like so wrong."

or in the film Josie and the Pussycats

'everything was the new pink'

either that or DuJour means....

(that film was funny) I sort of almost fixate on the Pussycats.

Zoomy can have martha Stewart. I'll take Josie and da grls.

anyhow poetry I mean lyrics are poetry set to music.

many times they ryhme. RAP is the ultimate street poetry

as for writing; in this case my writing style I once had a University of Toronto Professor give two lectures on stuff I had written.

the first class was on english journalism and as I sat in the class watching as I was a guest he 'ripped into' my writing and approach using it as an example of how not to write. boy I felt so tiny small and insignificant. (lucky he wrned me ahead of time he was going to do that.) he also did not tell anyone in class that the author was present. the next day he a class on creative writing, and some of the class attending were also in the other class as well. but this time he used the exact same piece of writing and this time he had all kinds of good things to say about my style, it made my aubergine complection go BEET red.

anyhow I think if you have something to say, no matter the style or spelling its great to express yourself. and writing or posting online is a great way to do so; especially if you are introverted or shy. it is a way of gaining confidence. and also of finding your own true inner voice. (or in my case my own inner vegetable)

*oh I forgot, the main reason this thread is here so you can all talk about your dews. flip your lids people, do you dye it pink, wear it long, have initials carved into it? mousse or gel or tint it? what sort of duds do you wear, things like that.*
