Favorite Old-School Interface?

Continuing this topic of discussion from #monkey-island, I thought this would be a cool idea to post a poll about.

 

Which MI1- or MI2-related interface do you prefer? LucasArts came out with interfaces in several different styles in a few short years. I'm only including ones that have to do with the first two MI games (or their demos) because those are the ones we are usually most nostalgic about.

 

My personal favorite is the one from the MI2 slideshow demo. I prefer being able to click on the "Walk to" verb whenever I want, it's easier to read than pink-and-purple, and it looks like the interface from earlier LEC games, giving a certain continuity.

i think mi1 floppy version is the best interface without graphical items .. mi2 has quite a similar to dott and indy4 with other shape ..

 

but they all work well! (e.g. zak's interface is 'lame' coz ypu have to click 3 times to get an action or so.. but since i played zak FIRST and i didnt knew mi1 at this time .. )

CD, but that's probably only because I'm so used to it. And it's the flashiest.

I do like the CD version, and played the games in that format, however I did play the retro feel MI1, and thought it was very cool, so I'm gonna go with that.

The CD would have to be the best as no time is wasted changing floppy disks and SMI had been slightly updated.

The sound was also a lot better. I'll go with the CD version.

But, you can't forget in the disk version the stump joke. Its not in the CD version, but I have both, so it doesn't bother me

I like the purplyness. I think it "goes well with" the games, MI2 especially.

The fist MI game I played was SOMI and it was via floppy. I loved it, so I voted for that.

Purplicious. Though I've tried all the incarnations, I can't deny the irresistable draw of purple. Dig it.

i actually have no clue what the difference between any of them is, but i chose the last one because i think that's the kind i have?

Er, yeah, the last one's probably the most common, so yeah, I dunno, yes. ¬

 

It kind of makes polls like this pointless if you don't know what you're doing.

I've only actually played the graphical (CD) interface with MI1 very recently, and I've found that I much prefer it over the older text-based one. I guess I enjoy eye candy.

Yeah, I'll have to go with the purple CD interface. Possibly just because I'm used to it, but then again, it seems like the most common sense interface to me.

yeah, i guess it is kinda pointless since i don't know what i'm talking about. actually i do. i like the purple one the best. i'm not really confused...or so i think! *dramatic soap opera tune/chord plays*
