Yeah, I read about that a couple days ago. I suspect the guy timed it real good so that his lawsuit hits right when 3DR are deep into developing Max Payne 2. Here's hoping the case is dismissed on whatever grounds. :D

I loved Max Payne the game. I was the biggest MP slut here at AG as it was coming out, a blatant fanwhore, even rode my bike four miles to the nearest Gamestop the day it came out. They didn't even have it on the floor yet, guy had to unpack a shipment for me - *sigh* those were the days (who cares if it was just 2 years ago? Stop staring at me!). Looking forward to MP2.

It's not nearly as bad as Spike Lee suing TNN. TNN (now The National Network, formerly The Nashville Network) is marketing themselves as "the first network exclusively for men." They chose the moniker "The Spike Network" as their new name. Whether you like the name or not, there's no denying that the word "spike" is quite ubiquitous. However, film director Spike Lee claimed that the use of his first name was somehow illegal, and through legal action got TNN to keep The National Network instead of The Spike Network. What a load of crap. There are tons of people named Spike, not to mention the fact that there are actual PHYSICAL ITEMS which are called "spikes". Even more ridiculous is the fact that there is another man in Lee's OWN PROFESSION (Spike Jonze, also a film director) who had no problem with the name. Completely absurd.

I guess that wrestler just wants some attention....

But Max Payne does sound like a wrestlers name, but so does "The Punisher".... And half the super heroes names...:p

And about that Spike Lee thing...

I think he is being a bit of a jerk... I mean "spike" is a word! Do beach volley players have to pay him everytime they make a "spike"?

There are lots of games, movie characters and such with the word "spike" in it, and do they get sued? I guess not...

But I must confess I have no idea of what "The Spike Network" is about....
