Anyone want to recommend some adventure games that are like the MI games?

I love the monkey island games, and adventure games are my favorite type of games. Anybody have any recomendations? I also have and love The Longest Journey, which is somewhat like the MI games (if you replace the witty humor with unbelievably good storyline). Anything else like these games?

Do not forget the great trilogie of Kyrandia!

Legend Of Kyrandia - Book One

Legend Of Kyrandia 2 - Hand Of Fate

Legend Of Kyrandia 3 - Malcolm's Revenge

very very brilliant games.

I also like:

- Toonstruck

- Simon 1 and 2

- Sam & Max

- Maniac Mansion 1 and 2

- Indy 4

- Gobliiiins 1, Gobliins 2, Goblins 3, Woodruff

- Dicsworld 1 and 2

- Myst (it's another form of adventure, but it's cool, too)

- Loom

- Grim Fandango

I already have all 4 of the MI games and have completed them. I have completed Grim Fandango. I have completed Zak McKracken. I also have Sam & Max, Maniac Mansion 1 & 2, Full Throttle, Indiana Jones (2 of them), and Loom, but haven't beaten them. I probably should have listed those originally, sorry. Thanks for all of the recommendations, and any more would be appreciated.

Also, where can I get any of the games that were suggested? I don't want to get them off an auction site such as ebay...

The Spanish company Pendulo Studios released a game called Runaway some time ago. I really enjoyed it, it's similar to the Broken Sword series. As far as I know it's only available in Spain and Germany so far but I bet it'll be released in the USA soon.

I second that recommendation on Legend Of Kyrandia 2 - Hand Of Fate. I enjoyed it very much, though I'm not a big fan ofthe first one. (too many goddamned mazes)

Not many people seem to recommend my second favorite adventure game series, Gabriel Knight. if you don't mind some obscure puzzles, I strongly recommend you to try them.

Here's some of my favorite 90's cartoon adventure games:

- Toonstruck

- Torin's Passage

- Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love for Sail

- King's Quest 7: the Princeless Bride (not hilarious but interesting.)

And if you're into cartoon games in general like me, try Braindead 13. :) It's not adventure, though.

You may not care since this is NOT an adventure game, but I just thought I'd mention it. If you have a Dreamcast or a Gamecube, you might try playing Skies of Arcadia sometime. It's as piratey as it gets, and lots of fun, with beautiful graphics. It's mostly rather light-hearted and fun, although not nearly as silly as Monkey Island. And like most RPGs, it gets more serious near the end. But it's definitely worth playing, with an interesting twist on the whole pirate thing.

Sam and max Hits the road was one of the most entertaining games ive played. but there is a few that beat it that would be the Monkey island series (which you allready know), and Grim fandango which if you havent got :D GO BUY IT:D its well worth it.

Others that are not quite as good as S&M MI 1,2,3&4 and GF

Simon the sorcerer 1,2 (havent played 3 yet)

Gilbert goodmate (Not a bad little game)

Lesiure Suit Larry 7 ( as long as you dont mind the game being a bit rude. well worth it)

Broken sword (very good)

Maniac mansion 1,2 (especially the 2nd one (day of the tentacle))

Myst (Bit different to the others)

Kings quest series ( Exellent games)
