When you've been playing a game for months that you're never allowed to play the right way according to other players, you start to hate. This works both ways. When I play the game the way I like to, people explode on me and won't hesitate to use every 4 letter word in the book on me. I mean really answer me this oh great wise honorific Jedi... 1-I buy a game. 2-I connect to a server. 3-I just want to play. What the **** is wrong with that? What cardinal sin did I commit? I can do that in any and every damn game made that has multiplayer except this one. Do you realize I have a better chance of getting in an actual fight in the friggen "Sims Online" than I do in Jedi Outcast? Do you not see something seriously screwed up with that? This junk was patched and the noveltly wore off. Theres no reason to do anything but play, because when you stand around with saber down in CTF blocking the capper, or just being a general waste of space, or pissing us off in FFA by calling us lamers and noobs, and treating it like an msn chat room, oldschool players get mad. thats the "bottom line" ZDawg said: What makes you think you have the right to say how afew people play a video game? grow up man. All the top players from JK2, be it CTF, Duel, TeamFFA pretty much don't give a **** about JA anymore. Go back about 2-3 months ago and you had every top 1v1/team based player in this game excited about JA and pushing for ladders and league support. Then we all finally see it in action... Now, hah, go look at the ladders. None of the top players/clans are even on there really (no offense to anyone who is on them). The 1v1 ladders would have had hundreds of people on it at launch if they didn't make JA geared towards the RPG nerds. First JK2 got over run by this homo RPG crap and JA was made just for the homo RPG fanatics and it's sad because this game really did have a chance to thrive but as usual the people who play the game for what it is and enjoy it got **** on once again. Really go look at all the threads in the JA forum. "WOW I CAN DO TEH BUTTERFLYZ MOVE!!! I WUB DIS JEDI GAME!!!" "I WANT MORE OBI DOOKU SKINZ DIS GAME SUX!!!" Right now all it does is show that there's a huge split in what people see as 'RP' gaming. I still don't think any of the examples given from the people complaining have anything to do with role playing. I also don't see where the term 'RPG noob' comes from as these people you're complaining about are rarely new to the game, and never role playing. Other than that, I pretty much agree. These 'Outcast Ethics' have gotten out of hand. What should be practiced on only a small number of servers has taken over at the expense of the game. I still don't think that all the servers out there suck, I also don't think that it's difficult to find a server that is just old fashioned FFA action, at least not in my own experience. As for team games? Well, it should be common sense that if you run into someone from the opposite team, whether your chat box is up or you've got your saber down, you're fair game.
