Kurgan
Now this may be based on an unfinished HUD, but I'm assuming that the little "yellow blip" indicator on the right hand HUD we've seen in screenshots represents the Saber stance being used. However, in every single saber screenshot I've ever seen (both SP and MP) I only see the yellow blip (even IIRC, with dual lightsabers and saberstaff). Why are there no screenshots of Fast or Strong? Is Raven trying to tease us? Or does the yellow mean something else?
Andy867
Well in jedi Outcast, Yellow represented medium, whereas blue represented fast, and red was strong. So I am guessing Raven will stick to that same format, despite there being new stances for the additional saberstaff and dual sabers.
Nemios
I'm sure I've seen at least one shot with the blue arc, but I've also seen shots with the arc in the upper position. Maybe the position is also important. [EDIT] I found a shot with the blue arc http://www.lucasarts.com/products/jediacademy/images/screens/18.jpg
Kurgan
Oh man, I feel stupid now... I posted "Fast" when I meant to say "Medium." Yellow = Medium. Sorry about that! And thank you Neimos, that answers my question. ; )
Andy867
Its ok Kurgan, we've had a trying past 48 Hours (if ya know what I mean )So getting things mixed up every now and then on that kind of thing is ok.
Darth Rythe
I know that it is unimportant but this picture does not show us what the stance looks like.
StormHammer
You know...it must be catching. All this time I've been playing JO, I've had it in my head that... Yellow = Fast Blue = Medium (I keep defaulting to Blue, because I was under this misconception) Red = Strong I think I've got crossed wires in my brain. :/ Reminder to self when I get JA... Blue = Fast Yellow = Medium Red = Strong
Lightsaberboy
i think the dual and saberstaffs only get 1 stance each. if you go on the official site and look at the saber moves, they have options to show the moves for each single saber stance, but for dual and saberstaff only 1 option each on the menu, so i guess there's only 1 stance for them. Like I said...I've just got crossed wires in my brain... I'll start the electro-shock therapy soon... And Lightsaberboy you're absolutely correct about the Dual Sabers and Saberstaff. I suppose they've simply used the colour for 'Medium' to indicate those stances, which makes sense if that is considered the 'default' stance. Clever bunny We've seen the moves, I was wondering (and perhaps Kurgan as well) why all screenshots indicate medium, except for a few fast). And sorry, StormHammer, I've never been confused about medium vs. fast vs. strong ... I just tend to interchange light/fast and heavy/strong. Mike Tricky... I watched carefully the last teaser trailer frame by frame and saw: - The arc is always blue - The arc is always in the centre OR in the upper - The player seems to use single saber, staff or double saber not depending by the arc position. Now I'm confused, I suppose we will clear the mystery when the game comes out. Just to add a point: at the second 37, just after the saber customization, the Kel Dor player holds a staff (notice the hilt and the position of the body)with a single saber and then throws it! Does this mean that when we choose either the staff or two sabers we can still switch to single saber?
GonkH8er
Yes, when you use the staff or dual sabers, you can switch off half, or one of them, and use it as a standard saber. That's been confirmed. But I believe I read that you don't then gain access to the original stances for single saber. Then there would be no point in going through the whole game with single saber, I suppose, if you did get them. Oh well, there's always "set forceall 5"

You know, you made me famous on the Net, so I care... Now fixed... thanks for pointing that out! My apologies. This has truly been a humbling thread for me. ; ) I remember seeing those shots and I guess the contrast on my monitor was such that I didn't see the faint blue arc! It looks like perhaps they were still playing around with the HUD conventions. Notice in the first official trailer, the Taun Taun's red horizontal bar of "health" on the far right side, vs. the apparent right hand side vertical bar of health in the Hoth Siege shot. I guess we'll see what they've decided in the final version...

I think it was StormHammer who said he was actually concerned about dual sabers as the have the fewest moves in that stance. I'm not worried ... I feel like before EpII, where I was concerned they'd make Anakin look good at the expense of Obi, and as my avatar shows, of course, that WASN'T the case ... I'm sure they've done a fine job with balancing things to be fun for people of all stance-choices. Mike
Crow_Nest
maybe the people who took those screenshots likes yellow stance.
