  1. That's too bad. On PC, you get that (amusing) loading screens for a few seconds, and I don't remember the rest of it. But I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

  2. Honestly, I'm a little surprised Disney even allowed that lol, given how strict they can be. I think the lines about it being simply a ship painted black by Stan were added as a middle-ground, but still was an awesome sight in the opening moments. Sea of Thieves made a crazy "what if scenario" of POTC and Monkey Island existing in the same universe actually possible and yes, to your point, that is pretty mind blowing. Perhaps Guybrush and Jack interacting isn't too far-fetched. Not anytime soon, but who knows, maybe at some point in the future. What a year it's been for Monkey Island.

  3. Yes, you're right. I should have said the money is mainly going to third-parties like LimitedRun. I definitely agree with supporting Disney released MI things...

  4. I'm not CERTAIN but it sounds a lot to me like the same person who does the Baldur's Gate 3 narrator, Amelia Tyler. That was my first impression, and when I looked her up she has done a voice for Sea of Thieves before so it tracks. She's great, check out her Baldur's Gate 3 outtake videos if you get the chance.

  5. If you told me 20 years ago that I would get to play in a fully immersive 3D environment in the world of Monkey Island it would’ve been my dream come true. BUT…If you also told me 20 years ago that Disney would end up owning the Monkey Island franchise and release a game with Guybrush I think I’d break my brain comprehending the entire thing.

  6. You can see why this was SO HARD to hold onto, because it's so freaking brilliant, the way it's done. It's almost as though the retcon inserts a massive time break *within* MI2... between the tunnels and when the kids emerge. Into that gap goes everything... Curse, Escape, Tales and who knows what else. What's more, it sets up this storytelling framework that takes the emphasis off the details. Does it really matter if all of the details fit perfectly? Maybe not so much. It reminds me of the alternate timeline thing in the Star Trek reboots (before that became a big trend) — a clever way of sidestepping all of the canon and continuity questions. And it takes the question "How can you do a Monkey Island game that picks up right at the end of MI2 but still incorporates everything thereafter" and ties it up in a neat little bow. I mean, seriously... just effing brilliant.
