  1. Yes, I got it. Should have it to you tomorrow night.

  2. Now, now, this is the FREE performance. But after that... ON THE THE BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!! MUAHAHAHA!!!

  3. Busy, busy, Mine Precious!!! Harping my way through an open house and on to Valentine's Day! I did find some BEAUTIFUL Celtic hymns that sound quite romantic for the Valentine's Eve dinner.

  4. Oh, I didn't catch that part. (Stupid skip button :xp:) I must have gotten some people mixed up; I skimmed through pts 1, 2 and 3 before skipping straight to pt 5. I thought she was the youngest of all. Whoops!

  5. Acckk! Sorry, life's been crazy lately.

    I think it's her naivete and young innocence, mixed with a unique wisdom and understanding granted by her age. Of all the characters, she has the most room to grow.

  6. I would LOVE to play classical on the harp, but it's next to impossible on a lever harp. (The difference between a lever harp and a pedal harp is that a lever harp has levers at the top which are lifted manually to sharpen or flatten the notes, and a pedal harp has pedals at the bottom to do the same thing, freeing the hands to concentrate on the notes.) What are your favorite composers? And have you ever played Billy in the Lowground? I've never quite been able to get that piece right.

  7. Definitely hymns. The harp seems made for hymns, and there are so many beautiful arrangements to play. What's your favorite genre?

  8. St. George's Windsor, St. Columba, and Lobe den Herren, to name a few of my favorite Celtic pieces. I have a beautiful arrangement of Be Thou My Vision, which may be my favorite piece of all time. And, of course, Across the Stars, Into the West, and May It Be. I'm putting together a harp arrangement for the Star Trek: First Contact theme, which is once of the more angelic pieces of music I've ever heard.

    Tortiga! :lol::D That's good!

  9. Oh, I tried to play that on the harp today! But since mine is a lever harp, I could only play Eowyn's theme; no King of the Golden Hall for me. :( But I've been playing Into the West and May It Be; they sound GREAT on the harp! I've been trying to find some pretty pieces from movies that people wouldn't recognize. Movie pieces are easier than Classical, but sound just as good! :D (Yes, I know, I cheat. :lol:)

  10. Mama's practice suffered over the holiday season as well. But her back-ordered Christmas present just arrived yesterday--Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Star Wars violin books! Have you ever tried Two Hornpipes (Tortuga Jig) on the violin? It's really impressive, especially if you have a guitar to go along with it.

  11. You play the violin! Awesome! So does my mom! Did you play for money, charity, friends, or the heck of it? What kind of music did you play? What kind of violin did you have? Come, come, I must know!

  12. I usually charge by the hour, taking into account how long it takes to get there. This party is pretty close, but has me playing for half an hour, waiting around for two hours, then playing another hour. So I have relatively little playing, but it's gonna take my entire afternoon and evening. I'm going to have to charge for the dead time, because I can't leave the room during those two hours, lest some rowdy child come along and tip the harp over. But I can't charge as much as for the actual playing time. So you see my dilemma. :nut::rolleye1::ugh:

  13. You betcha! The birthday party is timed oddly, though, with a lot of waiting-around time, so I'm sort of at a loss as to how much to charge. :confused:

  14. Meesa just got another harp offer! PAID! Meesa gonna play at a birthday party end of February! AND yesterday a lady called me with a short-notice offer to play Thursday evening! Also paid! So meesa VERY excited and putting together a repetory!
