  4. Just before the Cosmos was suffocated, I was back in my body, in my mind, before the mirror. I was staring back at myself. The mirror was no longer in use. I scrambled painfully to my feet, noting the taste of blood in my mouth and the stench of my waste. I turned to flee and saw an open, leather bound book on my chair. My handwriting was on those pages, including the words I had thought during my exploration. Words I had never written. With trembling hands, I picked up the book and looked at the cover. In silver were the words The Diary of Drenicus the Wise: The Gates of Hell.

I tried to throw the book away and found that I could not will myself to do so. I turned back to the mirror and said as defiantly as I could, “No one will believe a word of this.”

Before I turned around to forever leave, His voice replied, Our sentiments exactly.

  11. Pressure forced me from my chair. As I was forced to my knees and hands, bile raced up my throat and tears poured from my eyes in rage and humiliation. And fear. I supplicated myself before Him, kissed the floor before His feet. Although nothing touched me, my chin was lifted to behold Him again. A voice, colder, deeper and darker than any I had ever heard and ever will, burned in my mind. I whimpered at the violation, the intrusion at the contact.

So, thou hast peered beyond the Gates of Hell. His lips did not move. Or perhaps they did. To this day, I cannot tell.

    I nodded.

    Was it worth it?

I shook my head as what I though was tears and snot leak from my eyes and ears. I would later learn it was my blood. “No, I will never say what I have learned here today!” I tried to bite my tongue but the honorific was still wrenched from my throat, “My Lord and Master.”

  14. SKYPE, NNNNOOOWWWWWWW

    I KNOW YOU'RE HERE BEE

  15. Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear you've enjoyed them.

A copy of the TSLPatcher isn't required if you're using mods that include it, actually. Simply download the mod in question and run the exe (there should be instructions on what to do then once you've fired it up). Having a copy of the Patcher itself isn't needed.

  16. The Starlight Entertainers recruiter in the Lower City cantina would make a good replacement. He uses the same appearance as at least several other NPCs in the area, and has enough dialogue to give the Chandra-fan some decent screen time.

The droid store owner on Dantooine would also be good. Craatis Yurkal had a lot more dialogue (and better inventory) than he did, which made him seem like a pretty boring NPC in comparison. Making him a less common alien would alleviate that.

Either of the angry Duros (the ones complaining about Czerka and Helena) on Tatooine would also work. They both have similar dialogue (and identical appearances) but were supposed to be different NPCs.

Lastly, the Rodian pazaak (sp) player in Dreshdae would also be fitting. That area already has two other Rodians with large amounts of dialogue, and doesn't feel very diverse (Mika Dorin could be replaced instead, though it would take a while to change all the VOs in his dialogue).

  17. tk if you're playing a malkavian use demention on the food critic in hollywood

    ARE YOU ENJOYING YOUR MAGGOTS?!?

  18. tk102 why are you not at your post >:|

    see the stuff you've missed!

  19. You might not have as much of an issue with BioWare's writing in Mass Effect, actually. Part of it's due to the less stupid-sounding dialogue (the fact BioWare chose to write your PC's lines as if s/he were older than 12 helps), but so does how they deliberately tried to be morally ambiguous. I can't say BioWare succeeded in that regard, as I never ended up having to make any tough moral choices, but the main villain had (marginally) more depth than Malak and had actual justification for his actions. It was also a nice change of pace that 'evil' characters were more ends-justify-the-means types who wanted to save the galaxy as badly as good characters did.

ME also explores some more mature themes than KotOR did. Racism (well, speciesism) comes up very frequently during the game and gives it a much more serious feel. Nationalism also does to a lesser extent, but it's kind of blurred with the former.

Not to say the game is consistently well-written, though. There were a number of lines which caused me to roll my eyes, and the justification evil PCs have for their actions isn't always very... well, justified. It is most of the time, but there's still several instances where it seems forced. Though thankfully none of those instances are relevant to the plot.

But anyways, if you'd wanted a review for the game I'm sure you'd have looked for one. It's no MotB, but I'd still recommend it to anyone who likes story-driven RPGs.

  20. You needs a visitor message.

MotB > ME. I've played both of them, now.

    >_>
