Wildstar
Hey gang Was wondering if anyone was going to watch this rework of the late 70's/early 80's TV series starting tomorrow night (US time). With new digital effects and a few surprises in the story, it might be worth watching. Lemme know what you guys think.
edlib
If I'm home I'll give it a look-see. I've heard some differing reports on it, but I'm curious.
edlib
It took me a few minutes to figure out that it's a full remake rather than a sequel, picking up where the old series left off. 2 sex scenes in the first 30 minutes... interesting new approach. Flying Beastie
I've said before and I'll say again; She-Starbuck is a hottie. Picking up where the original left off would've been problematical. The whole point of any film is to draw in new viewers, who wouldn't know the original. Besides, you'd then end up getting sucked into the debate about the canonicity of Galactica 1980, which nobody wants. Unfortunately, being in Canada, I'll still have to wait 'till January to see it. Thrawn
I saw a few scenes of it, didn't seem to capture the same feeling of the series, although that was probobly the point. All in all, Battlestar was Star Wars on TV, this isn't. I want the actual robots back! Those guys were cool. Chrome-covered stormtroopers.
Admiral Odin
So is this supposed to be a intro to a new series or just films?
Thrawn
I think the mini-series was a test to see if they could turn it into a real show, but I doubt they will. I'll just be happy to see the second half of Season Seven of Stargate, the 8th and final season, and the first season of the new Stargate show. Flying Beastie
I'm wondering if Space'll run the Stargate spinoff (or heck, even SG-1 S8) in "real-time." They only started Season one back in September, though we're up to S3 now, since they're running it weeknights. At least, I think it's S3. We just had our first brush with the Replicators last Friday (Monday was a season premiere). Please don't spoil anything (yes, I already know what happens in "Meridian")
Thrawn
Replicators are a nasty bunch, almost as bad as the Borg, who are their big cousings I believe.
Prime
I'm not sure what the plans are for airing it in Canada. Have you heard anything Flying Beastie? I hope to see it at one point. P.S. Hi from another Ottawa resident.
Zargon
I liked it, yeah they changed stuf around but it worked pretty well. Sadly I thoguht the worst acting job was done by the higest billed actor there, edward james olmos.....
Jem
Haha, Ottawa residents are starting to spread within the forum, we're already three. Fear us.
Commander 598
I would, but i'm too busy fearing the multitude of Finns all over the place. It makes one somewhat paranoid to know that a midsized North Eastern European country can have a number of people online that rivals the US... Something fishy I say... Gold leader
Mid-sized in area, not inhabitants. They also kick ass in online FPS games. Nothing strange 'bout that though; in a place that dark and cold, there probably isn't much else to do besides surfing the net and play RTCW. I haven't heard anything, actually. I'm just extrapolating. I'm thinking that we should be caught up by the time S8 starts, but then Space'd have to readjust their schedules, since the new season will only air one episode a week. SG Update: Tonight is the "Groundhog's Day" episode. Golf, anyone?
Jabba The Hunt
bah the replicators are nothing, I mean all they can do is take over a whole galaxy, thats a much nicer fate than some of the things waiting for us
