legameboy Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 I found out about this game in this month's issue of CGW, check it out, it looks good. http://soldner.jowood.com/
wassup Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 Too many games, too little time. It looks like a promising game, with destructable terrain and huge maps. It looks like a much more advanced Operation Flashpoint, which was not bad except for bugs.
legameboy Posted December 31, 2003 Author Posted December 31, 2003 Plus the modding tools come right in the box and there are over 100 vehicles and weapons combined.
wassup Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 Yup, theres a lot of promise here for a First-Person Shooter that also involves alot of strategy. I hope the devs won't make most of the vehicles all the same and they each have their own particular uses in the maps, instead of just having a different coating of texture.
RoxStar Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 This looks very cool indeed. When they say download the intro, is that the first level also?
Sam Fisher Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 Bah, I've known about this for a long time:o I really want to get it, but prolly will not be able to because of parental complications...
ExcelsioN Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 Originally posted by Sam Fisher I really want to get it, but prolly will not be able to because of parental complications... Your parents must be really restrictive. And I thought mine were. I s'pose not because I'm allowed 18 rated games. But not films of the same rating. This game looks good, I'll add it to my 'consider buying' list.
Antilles_CL Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 I too have been following this game for some time since I heard about it from PCG....Another great game from our German Friends
Sam Fisher Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 My parents suck when it comes to games. That it. Hey hey hey, Welcome back Semi
Acrylic Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 Originally posted by Semicolon I too have been following this game for some time since I heard about it from PCG....Another great game from our Russian Friends ' Actually, its German.
legameboy Posted December 31, 2003 Author Posted December 31, 2003 Originally posted by RoxStar This looks very cool indeed. When they say download the intro, is that the first level also? No, it's just the intro movie. Oh, and I looked at all the vehicles, they each seem different. Whether they have or are different models, speed, fire-power, car armor, or whatever. I'm looking forward to it indeed. It's supposed to come out in Q1 2004. Also, in the magazine article that I read, it said that if you had a Linux server, you could host 128-player fights. I wonder if they could pull that off with a decent latency though... who knows.
Nerd_Annhilator Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Stupid question, but is there a monthly fee? If so, S***!!! If not, this is going to be my new favorite game. ( I LOVED ofp.)
legameboy Posted January 1, 2004 Author Posted January 1, 2004 There will be no monthly fee at all. The only thing you'll have to pay for is the game and maybe future add-ons. Another thing that's cool. You can practically build your own character! And there is 5 times more variety than Jedi Academy! At least... I think it's cool.
Joetheeskimo Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Originally posted by Semicolon I too have been following this game for some time since I heard about it from PCG....Another great game from our German Friends Another great game that my stupid computer can't support
legameboy Posted January 1, 2004 Author Posted January 1, 2004 Save up some cash and upgrade it! Or beg your parents to death.
Nerd_Annhilator Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 YES!! yeah, I like the custom character thing. I noticed a pocket pc in the inventory thing. wonder what that'll do. Wow. It takes one HOUR to cross all the land in the fastest vehicle (if its a plane, even more wow) in OFP it look like, 1 min This all looks pretty awsome.
Shotokan Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 The game looks pretty good... But I'm looking forward to Full Spectrum Warrior.
DarkLord60 Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Looks good but unfortunatly I don't have all the time in the world to play all these games. I wish I did but I don't.
legameboy Posted January 1, 2004 Author Posted January 1, 2004 Well I'll just keep checking it out and when it's released we'll all see if it's worth getting. I wish I could beta-test the game. Hehe.
Antilles_CL Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Originally posted by DarkLord60 Looks good but unfortunatly I don't have all the time in the world to play all these games. I wish I did but I don't. So many games...So little time..eh? Just don't let them drag you away from your real life
legameboy Posted January 1, 2004 Author Posted January 1, 2004 Yes, girlfriend first, computer later... This Spring will be a season of many tough choices... the Sims 2, Soldner, Half-life 2, this, that. Pft, I can handle it.
Sam Fisher Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Woah, one HOUR?! Dang, that is really big maps...YAYAYAYA!!!
legameboy Posted January 1, 2004 Author Posted January 1, 2004 I can't wait to fly over parts of the map with a helicopter, surveying all the craters, ruins, and corpses of the fallen. XD
