Ways to get cash?

Hi all,

What are your preferred methods for getting a bit of cash together. At the moment i'm on Tattooine, and I want to hone my swoop racing, but i don't have the cash to spend on all those runs.

Thanks

First of all, you can get money from solving (side)quests. For example: someone asks you to find his daughter for you. When you find her, go back to the one who gave you this quest and get you're reward.

Note: You'll get lightside points when saying "keep you're reward" (although you'll probably still receive the money) and you'll get darkside points if you ask or threaten them for more.

The second method is selling your items to whatever salesman you encounter. When you ask the salesman to show his items, you can press the sell button at the bottom of the screen and sell items you hardly use. You'll probably have lots of grenades, mines and armor/weapon stolen from bodies that you'll never use.

And then there's Pazaak, a card game where you can set a bet and gamble :D You'll have to invest in extra pazaak cards to keep winning though...

If you want to "cheat", you can do a quick save right before you talk to the registrar. Then pay the fee and race. If you win, you get the money. If you lose, you can just quick load and try again. That way you only have to pay the fee once.

But you didn't hear this from me ;)

If you're going to sell anything, do it on Yavin. Suvam pays you much more than anybody else! On Tatooine, you can kill wraid and collect their skull plates. They can be sold for 24 credits (I think). On Yavin you get more like 50 credits or something. And the racing bonds, don't sell them anywhere but Yavin. Normally: 60 credits, Yavin: about 150 credits.

If you have force persuade you can even get out of the first payment and not have to pay a thing ! Yep, quicksave is the way to go, otheriwise its just awaste of money.....unless you're so good you win every time....I definitely wasnt.... :p

Thanks for the advice...I got to the second tier on the Tattooine races and got some moolah, but I didn't realise you got more for those bonds on Yavin...one for next time! Also, a certain person had lots of cash on him, and by the time i was finished he was considerably past caring whether he had it or not :D bwahaha!

Also, on the first Taris race, the time you get is the best time on the other races, so the better you get on Taris, the harder it will to win all the other races.

Good to know. I hate sticking it to myself :)

okay. what is this "a little rich" thing people keep referring too? or the reference to some one with alot of credits. as i have made multiple lightside run-throughs, i've discovered practically all the possibilities for the quests etc of that alignment. but i have not delved as deep into the darkside. and the way these things were referred to, makes me think they are more aligned with the darkside. if you would like to elaborate, PLEASE do so. spoiler it if you must. but trying to figure all the ds secrets out on my own is killing me with guilt. and besides i want to know how to be rich too. :)

i kept it. it was a great item. but i never wore it, as i thought all head equipped items looked downright goofy. i admit the circlet is one of the better ones, but i couldn't sell it on my previous trips through because it was lightside-restricted and i was going through on the lightside. i did sell bacca's blade though. :)

and shall we be a little more practical with our advice. where in this game can you possibly steal credits?

If you are playing light side DO NOT SELL THE CIRCLET OF SARESH!!!

In my opinion there is no better headgear in the game - even if you are not a Consular you get serious Force bonus with that on. As someone said, for the WIS +5 bonus, I'd have run around with underwear on my head ...

Back to the original topic, as a light-sider, you will find yourself somewhat strapped for cash, unlike darksiders who have it pouring out of their pockets. I am amazed at how many credits I have at this point in the game ... I've already bought some pretty cool stuff, and have my eyes on more later ...

Oh, a question for darksiders

If you poison the shark on Manaan, does the price of medpacks go up to reflect the rarity of the source? If so, is it worth stockpiling now at 40creds each and then sell them later? What's the price on Yavin later? Thanks!

I didn't like the look of any of the headgear either...

Priceless! :D

I don't mind some of them, but things like the Sith mask with no hood ... strange. The Circlet I didn't mind, and the Verpine headgear ... with deference to Lavar, I think it looks cool.

I think the big thing is to master the turret battle, and then planet-hop liberally. Find good stuff and sell it on Yavin. Sell him bad stuff, anything you won't use. If you have 3 guns you like, sell the rest, and just remember to disarm it before entering the Ebon Hawk.
