Aedus/Xerxes
should you be able to remove body parts with a lightsaber like the 'Realistic saber combat' cheat from JA personaly id like to have it included in any further KOTOR
Aedus/Xerxes
it would be nice to have it included as part of a death animation i mean, rather than on contact
Crowy
itd be cool if you could cut droids in half and they still faught like the cyborgs in tiberian sun and stuff and if you could cut off hands so people with dual pistols couldnt have dual pistols anymore or something
RedHawke
I voted No, its an RPG and dismembering opponents fits better with a FPS. Of course this is just my opinion I could be wrong.
FiEND_138
^^^ Yeah, I kinda share the same opinon... to a point. Somethin like hands/forearms would be cool, but not every time. Something like, say an extremely perfect kill/death blow, whoosh goes a hand/arm. Nothin like heads/mid-sections bouncing off the floor though, save that for JO/JA. And it would also raise the games ESRB Violence rating, and that's probably something some younger fans of the game wouldn't want to happen anyway. Rhordae
Oh come on people! It's a LIGHTSABER! If it makes contact it would cut right through anyone. I think Lucas made that pretty obvious in his movies... but I know not everyone likes to see that sort of thing so I vote to have it as a toggle function you can turn on at will. I think Lucas made that pretty obvious in his movies... Actually Rhordae lightsabres do not effortlessly slide through matter, you have to apply pressure for the blade to slice anything. Lightsabers are plasma contained by an electromagnetic field and that field itself will create resistance. Example 1: EP6 Throne Room Duel, Luke nails Vader on the shoulder and it does not effortlessly cut Vader's arm off, if you look closely Luke was wildly swinging, it was a glancing blow and Luke did not have much force behind the blow. Example 2: EP2 Dooku vs. Obi-Wan Dooku's lightsabre wounds Obi-Wan's arm and leg but does not effortlessly do so, Dooku pulls the blows, in order to do something like that with a weapon it has to have some impact resistance to begin with. Example 3: EP1 Qui-Gon Jinn and the Blast Door watch Liam Neeson's acting he is applying effort to his sabre to cut the door, it is not effortlessly slicing the door, when the secondary blast doors close as well it slows his cutting down even more. Sorry there Rhordae, but the movies clearly show that lightsabres require effort to swing and cut with, and do not simply cut on contact.
kome566
Well it depends like a viroblade or something.Besides if it DID have dismemberment on..then what will YOU do if on of ur arm/s,leg/s,head/s get cut off
FiEND_138
^^^ LMAO & reload like I do in JO when Kyles head goes bouncing off screen Nope, don't think I'd want to see it in K1/2.
RedHawke
^^^^ Yeah, the whole dismemberment thing is best left to FPS games, it really has no place in a computer RPG.
Aleggy
ok this what i think i think that by default you shouldn't have the dismembering with the lightsabre in the game however i do belive that a cheat should be available to let you have it in if you so wish so its then a matter of choice by the player and because its a cheat and not automaticly available it wont be an 18 rating so the younger players can still get it very much like what they did with mortal kombat all those years ago when they had all that controversy about the blood in the game

If you want it, you have the ability to have it. If you don't, you don't have to think about it. Also, if they don't have it as an option in a configuration screen (only available by cheating), they can keep the ESRB rating down at T, instead of up at M. Hiroki
Oh yes, if it was rated 17+, younger people couldn't get it, because we know how much parents these days care about the ESRB. Honestly, who are you fooling?
kome566
If LA announced a patch for kotor for dismemberment codes then i bet half of the kotor player's parents will want a full refund . . . :D

Honestly, who are you fooling? Unfortunately, and this is very sad to me, but it would might surprise you to know how easy it is for kids to obtain the 17+ year video games. There have been articles upon articles on how many kids have the Playstation game Grand Theft Auto. The 17+ rating is not very well enforced and this is still a hot debate. Most of it stems from parents not really knowing about the games. For this reason I have to agree with the posters who DO NOT want to have dismemberment in the game. If parents suddenly found out that a Star Wars game was overly violent, then it would be a black eye to Lucas and many fans worldwide.
JediConsularAD
i think that violence in the game would make it less fun. although you do kill. Limb chopping is just not a fun thing to watch i like to watch the duelling and only fans of the sith would wish this type of violence to take place.
