Darth Straker Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Check out this site, it contains pics from the TRILOGY boxset (it's portuguese) http://dvd.blogs.sapo.pt/arquivo/187743.html Pretty cool boxes!!!!!!!!!!!!
Darth Straker Posted June 25, 2004 Author Posted June 25, 2004 I'll translate it: "Today the individual covers from the Star Wars trilogy were revealed, which will be released 21st September. They have, as you can see, much the same style of Episode's I and II DVD's ." Don't worry, I'm a good translator.
Jan Gaarni Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Chase, are you seriouse?!? ESB is a dark movie, where the Empire prevails alot, it would only be natural that it is heavily "Imperialised", so to speak.
Lynk Former Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 doesn't the box have Vader on it and not the porno-type pic?
Poggle Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Wasn't the vader silver one the special edition widescreen version? so i'm afraid it is the silver porn pic

Lynk Former Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Hmmm *looks at price* **** that's expensive. oh well, it's worth it XD
Jan Gaarni Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 Forgive me for doubting that somewhat. First, how original are we talking about here? Cause all ESB versions I own (3 different covers, 1 OT and 2 SE) all display Vader as the central character on the box, and no Luke whatsoever. And I cannot remember seeing Luke as the central character on the cover back in the days when I could only rent the movies. There have been posters with Luke on it, but Vader has always, to my knowledge, overshadowed Luke on them. I am not saying you are wrong, cause you obviously must have seen this somewhere, but for the most part Vader has been the most central character on the cover, both on videos and on posters, and overshadowing Luke when he was on the cover/poster aswell.
coupes. Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 Chase, I know the picture you are refering to, and I have to agree that the pose is very similar. That said, I highly doubt they would have gone through all this trouble to morph him into vader when they already have a good library of vader pics, not to mention, they could have simply dressed up a hobo into a vader suit and taken his picture, it would have been much simpler... anyways, here's the pic :
Sivy Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 i thought you were talking about this one... http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B000057VOG.02.LZZZZZZZ.jpg anyway, they're the best covers that the OT has ever had IMO.
Ockniel Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 I dont know, I like it, I think that it looks nice. and professional
joesdomain Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 I love the individual coverart and disc art for each disc. Looks cool!

Super Clone Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 In the origional VHS version of the trilogy it says you can own it for one last time. Then the trilogy is coming out on DVD in September. Whats up with that? I know they are going to digitally remaster it and everything but i mean come on.

Also you can look at it saying that those were the exact original copies, not special edition, where as these are. good questioning though.
Super Clone Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 I know DVDs weren't out yet I was just saying it.
