Tyler_Durden
One reviewer on another thread went as far as saying the PS2 had better graphics than the PC or the Xbox because the background seemed to blend better than in the other versions. WTF? I'm sorry but with the PC you can adjust resolution to get the BEST graphics. Also you can have more than 16 people on a server than either PS2 or Xbox which is an advantage to most people. The only thing the PC doesn't have is the ability to play the galactic conquest mode with a buddy.

Compare my aged (3 years old) PC to the XBox: PC: 1.7 GHz Intel CPU > XBox: 733 MHz Intel Custom Pentium III CPU PC: 512 Meg DDR SDRAM > XBox: 64 MB DDR SDRAM PC: 475 MHz GeForce FX 5700 > XBox: 250 MHz Custom-Designed NV2X PC: DirectX 9.0 support > XBox: DirectX 8.0a support PC: Graphics Memory Bandwidth: 14.4GB/sec > XBox: 6.4GB/sec Any current PC is vastly superior to mine, which is superior to the XBox. I have an XBox and it is fun, but let's not go all crazy and say that the XBox is almost the same as today's PCs. And at least from a technical standpoint, XBox pwns the PS2 (in many areas it is twice as powerful), games, TV, and availability of a comfy chair aside. Master William
I really am annoyed that it isn't released for Gamecube, that's the only console I have, and the Gamecube is between Xbox and PS2 with the graphics. Ah well, now I must spend thousands of Swedish kronor to buy some stupid PC parts (this is why I absolutely despise PCs). I already spent lots of money on my console, why the heck do most developers keep skipping Gamecube and release games only for Xbox and PS2? They're ignorant to think Nintendo are just for kids. And Prime, you might want to know that the PC- and console worlds differ. It says Xbox has 733 MHZ or whatever, but as we can see it runs games very good. In the console world, specs like that are high. If the specs were in the same worth in both gaming worlds we'd see my old computer run games better than the Xbox... THE BADGER:
why the heck do most developers keep skipping Gamecube and release games only for Xbox and PS2? Because Gamecube does not have Internet ability. This game is tailored for on-line multi-player play. And c'mon, you cannot compare a PC to a console. Thats like comparing apples to oranges! JawaJoey
Stop the console war already. In all truth, BF will look better on the Xbox than the PS2, and better on PC than Xbox. Xbox looks nice and all, but a good computer looks nicer. The writer of that review was a moron to say that Xbox would be better than and PS2, let alone "far superior." Idiot. Oh, BTW, PC 0wnz!!!11!1!!
Master William
badger, you can play online on the Gamecube, it's just that there's only ONE game that supports it, so if they actually wanted they could easily release Battlefront. ah well, Zelda still owns
reltes
i have a pc and a ps2. the only thing better for me on pc is the graphics but my computer is a little old and i don't have a top o' the line graphics card or $$$ hundreds to shell out on one. and i have slow online so i won't be playing on the net unfortunatley. it's up to the individual's situation. and it does suck that gc doesn't get this but i've never gotten to play rogue squadron. oh.....and... bigscreen hdtv, comfortable chair, better sound, no crashing etc, split screen two player full on drunken buddy assault. yeeeehooooo!!! and to quote prime, "Yay, split screen! I guess that owns having access to hundreds of online servers with 32 players without paying an extra fee. joesdomain
Doesn't X-box, PC, and PS2 use a CD/DVD style format. Nintendo Gamecube has a wierd format that does not resemble a CD shape. Maybe they didn't want to take time to put it on another medium other than CD/DVD shape.
Tyler_Durden
I think the very reason gamecube is not getting this title is that 1: it does not indeed have network capability and 2. The discs they use only hold 1.5 gigs space which was a STUPID, STUPID move by Nintendo. I agree, though, that they do have some awesome looking games but i think they've gotten a reputation as a kiddy console, with resident evil being really the only "adult" title. If i were nintendo, i'd rethink my current state. Alot of their old-school gamers are now in their 20's and 30's, and they want the best possible. PS2 and XBox offer the best, and PC's a no-brainer. If you don't have Xbox or PS2, save your money or get a job. It's only $149, less than a weeks pay. Even a PC with the specs that Prime posted is relatively cheap too, maybe $500-$700. Master William
I said it before and i'll say it again, you can play online with the Gamecube, there's just one single game that supports it though (Phantasy Star Online). very well, I understand your points, even though I hate it when they do this with releases
joesdomain
Yeah, that was the main problem with Gamecube verus the other two console systems. No online playing on star wars games or any major game I know of.

I agree that PS2 and XBox do a great job with the hardware they have. But it doesn't change the fact that PC > PS2, XBox > Gamecube interms of capability. But there are lots of other reasons to like consoles, and I have one as well. Originally posted by Master William I already spent lots of money on my console, why the heck do most developers keep skipping Gamecube and release games only for Xbox and PS2? Then doesn't that in fact make the console geared to kids? Originally posted by thejeditraitor i'll be playing with my buds while your hugging your super pc... I'll be playing with my buds too. All 32 of them. At the same time. LAN party! You can play with your one friend. With half a screen. While the others sit around doing nothing. Just teasing Originally posted by thejeditraitor in the dark.. Which means I don't have to wear pants. yaebginn
I'm thinkin about getting a used gamecube for like 50 bux just for the few star wars games they do have. I'll probably do it next year, when they're giving the gamecubes away as free samples.
