size of maps for online

someone on here said they are about as big as the bf vietnam maps depending on the battles. If you've ever played bf vietnam or 1942, the maps are absolutely HUGE!! Sometimes maps are so huge and everyone piles into vehicles leaving you behind thus you have to make a journey towhere they are located. If you go on foot sometimes it can take you ten minutes to get where you need to be. I'd say the big maps have around a 2 or 3 mile radius, give or take while smaller maps are about 1.

I think the most annoying thing about Battlefield 1942 game was the huge maps. Yeah it's great to have a big battlefield, BUT it really slowed down the gameplay, and on some parts of map were totally useless no-one ever went there, I would rather have smaller maps with more intense battles.

Seccond thing that bothers me was the vehicles, yeah they were nice but there were so many and the maps were so big everyone just camped at base to get a vehicle and then drive off. Tanks are nice but if there's nothing more than just bunch of tanks in the battlefield it just doesn't feel right. I'd rather have tons of infantry running around and few tanks supporting them.

I hope Pandemic Studios have seen these points also and so made Battlefront much better from these areas. Looking good so far

I think the size of the maps were cool they just didn't utilize every location to its full potential. It's like the command points were in close proximity so those other parts of the map went unused. If the command points were put so that they were spread out more then you'd have more action taking place on a wider area but then you have to add more slots for troops as reinforcements would be spread thin. Hmm kind of gives me an idea.....

Just so you know not all maps will fit your tastes. Endor is for people who want intense battles and few vehicles, while other maps(I think hoth) are more for big maps and vehicles, still some will be mixed (geonosis). So there are maps for all types of ppl out there.

I don't think geonosis is a good example of a mixed map. If there is one of the new triology planets with a lot of vehicles on it, it's Geonosis.

A better example of a mixed map would be Kamino in my eyes. You have a infantry based map, but a lot of air vehicles.

As long as they're as big as , if not bigger , then the Socom2 maps I'll be fine .

They probably are quit large, I wouldn't worry to much :)

The only problem with large maps is that they aren't fun when playing with only a few people. You just take over eachothers checkpoints with almost no confrontation.
