Master William Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 It's so stupid, I kill the Rebel Marksman (a female obviously) and she sounds like a man!
TK-8252 Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 The Rebel Marksman has a female voice, but no voice commands and bots acknoledge the silent voice commands with "yes sir."
Master William Posted October 1, 2004 Author Posted October 1, 2004 She does? When I kill her and do other things to her (no it's not what you think) she ALWAYS sounds like a man, she has never ever made a female sound. Perhaps this goes for Xboxers lonly?
Evil Dark Jedi Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Yeah same problems. You shoot her and it her UGGHH come out like a mans voice.
Zerosaber Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 For me she almost never makes a sound it's like lucasarts went sexiest and din't put a female voice but they put aman's voice. But to me she's like a mute. Never geard her said anything
Orichifunk Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 I've never really noticed myself. But if this is for the Xbox players, you really have a good reason for being abit annoyed. I mean, how could they assign manly sounds to a woman ..?!
manoman81 Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 Yeah, I'm on PC and I have that too. You would think that they would have fixed that before getting the game out.
-XJD-MALAK Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 I think that it is in every version but it doesn't really matter anyway. If it bugs you, then just think of the rebel marksman as a very manly woman. lol
jdtech Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 Its odd isn't it, no voice at all, surely LA employ women? John
snj Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 This is pure laziness, how could they make a woman sound like a man and not even realise it?
JawaJoey Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 Originally posted by snj This is pure laziness, how could they make a woman sound like a man and not even realise it? I didn't notice it. Though it is a woman, she's not exactly super feminine looking. And it's possible that they didn't notice that the sounds for one out of sixteen playable characters wasn't quite right. And if they did know, they didn't do anything because of time. Did you notice the dozens of other examples of things that they most likely would have improved, had they not had such a strict deadline? No wait, I take that all back. It's because Lucasarts is sexist.
TK-8252 Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 "Marksman" and any other word with "man" at the end is correct for both genders. In high school, ninth-grade girls are called "freshmen," not "freshwomen" or something.

It's honestly not that hard.
JawaJoey Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 Well, admittedly, I very rarely play any of the sniper classes. But just a few minutes ago I tired it. I chose rebel marksman and pressed all the commands, and there was no voice. Not male, not female, none. I was issuing the orders, but no sounds happened. Apparently she's not a she-man, she's a mute.
Master William Posted October 2, 2004 Author Posted October 2, 2004 No, I think she's refusing to talk now that we all have been mocking her voice...
Sivy Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 maybe the devs are aerosmith fans... you know, Dude looks like a lady
Evil Dark Jedi Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Originally posted by Sivy maybe the devs are aerosmith fans... you know, Dude looks like a lady Hehehehehehehe. I just played the sniper again. How come the devs couldnt put a female voice?
Darth_ToMeR Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Originally posted by TK-8252 "Marksman" and any other word with "man" at the end is correct for both genders. What about Batman?
TK-8252 Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Originally posted by Darth_ToMeR What about Batman? "Batman" is a person, not a title. Here, I'll say that again: "Marksman" and any other title with "man" at the end is correct for both genders. FIX'D!
