Yeah, he's keeping the East Timor people from getting money that's rightfully theirs, he's involved Australia in a war to which the reason was a lie... or a BIG mistake, it doesn't matter which one now cause either one is as bad as eachother. He's committed Australian troops to Iraq just so he could be on good terms with Bush but instead he's just pissed off our neighbours in the north a lot more than they were before and the result is two bombings targetted at us in Indonesia. Not to mention the fact that Australia is now a big target up there next to the US while before we weren't considered a great target at all. Our boys should be home with their families and loved ones instead of in some country in the middle east fighting a fight that should have stayed with the US alone. I hate the fact that the US had to drag in every other country and then bitch about the ones that had the sense to mind their own business. Howard has made decisions lately that have effected this country greatly, I really don't want Australia to be involved so deeply with such things, it really isn't our business... and don't gimme that "they were after all western countries" crap here cause before we didn't hear about Australian being directly targetted by these terrorists. So many have died because of Iraq and many more will die before it's over and I have a big feeling that it will never end. The troops will be there for a long time to come, and while I agree that they should do their duty now that they're there, the point is that they were sent there just cause Howard wanted to be pals with Bush. The relations with one country who aren't hostile with us in the first place aren't as important as building a trusting relationship with countries that don't think much of Australia at the moment. But instead of building good relations with those countries, we're in bed with the US, all thanks to Howard. Oh but I'm not done there, children in detention centers. F***ing hell, what is going one? Kids in a prison type environment?! You're a moron if you think that isn't wrong. Oh and what about the GST? Yay, we get cheaper stereos and crap like that... but in return our every day items like milk and bread and all that are that little bit more expensive. Woohoo, what a great idea, you're really thinking about the people aren't ya Howard. When you're under a Liberal government you can bet the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Oh but even better, Howard is planning to retire mid term, leaving his snake buddy behind to run things, oh what fun.

Don't worry guys, just wait 3 more years and we can have our chance to vote Latham in.

well, he seems like a bit of a right wing extremist, so i'm not surprised at all that the austrailan public voted for him again... :(

Of course, from what i hear the leader of the opposition is pretty dull, and these days it isn't your policies or abilities that matter, it is all about appearance.... (see tony blair, al gore, etc..)

its just the same as the way people generally perceive americans, especially since they have an A$$hole president... that doesnt mean to say there arent any members of the population with a sense of social justice... :(

what Lynk has outlined is correct. .... this is the inherent problem with the australian voting public..... outside of their own pocket and and household, people dont really give a sh*t :( the 'she'll be right' aussie attitude needs to be qualified by saying 'sh'ell be right for me, I dont really care about you..' mainly referring to minority/indigenous issues, human rights issues and health/education for the underpriveleged. A government that boasts a surplus, having removed huge amounts of funding to schools/universities, closing hospitals and amending the medicare system demonstrates its lack of foresight for the welfare of future generations.....

what will really be F*kd up is if Bush gets re-elected too :(

Troop sh'up you fool ! :p
