PR-0927 Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Well, I really want Adobe GoLive CS. And, it costs $400. So, my Dad and I went looking around the web for low prices. We found this website: http://adobe.allsoftmarket.com/index.html That is like...cheapness!! But, I was wondering...has anyone used this place before? If so, is it a trustable place. The reason stuff is so cheap is written here: http://adobe.allsoftmarket.com/about.html I hope you awesome people will help. It'll make life a ton easier. Then I can tell my Dad if this place is trustable. Thanx!!
Datheus Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Do not give these people your credit card number. It's a scam. CD manufacturing is not expensive. It pales in comparison to other costs of the industry. Not to mention if you could just download the .ISO, it'd be a cracked copy. Software manufactures would not just sell ISOs of software. And how are you supposed to "return" a downloaded .ISO? Especially without any way to contact the company? (Note no email anywhere on the site.)

•-BLaCKouT-• Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Yup, sounds dodgy to me too. Frankly, for what you're "getting", you may as well download a version you know is a bootleg and cut out the doubt. Not that I condone that sort of thing of course. B.
Datheus Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 The domain is registed to one "John Hopking" whose contact info is a P.O box in Denver, Colorado. Yet, he works for "Neo Net Ltd", a company based out of Chester, England? Right. Neo Net Ltd Address: 47 Victoria Road, Chester, CH2 2AX, England, United Kingdom Phone: 01244370005 John Hopking Address: PO box 675, Denver CO, 188101, United States Phone: (303)2372732
PR-0927 Posted December 19, 2004 Author Posted December 19, 2004 Thanx!! O.K., I found this website with Adobe Creative Suite Premium Edition (normally $1,200) for $200. They have the phone numbers listed as well. It looks less-scammy... Here is the link to that site: http://www.buysusa.com/
PR-0927 Posted December 19, 2004 Author Posted December 19, 2004 Or...here are three more places: http://www.academicstores.com/product_23774.htm http://store.yahoo.com/needsoftware/academic-software-adobe-go-live.html http://newsite.pagecomputers.com/store/Product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Software&category%5Fname=27gc177s819&product%5Fid=332817&cookie%5Ftest=1 Are they trustable?
RoxStar Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 They're academic licences, I think its meant for a school.
PR-0927 Posted December 19, 2004 Author Posted December 19, 2004 My Dad is a teacher. KSU Physics Professor actually, with a PhD.
MTV2 Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 No fancy box!!!!!!! I love fancy urgh but what about intructions?
Sabretooth Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Originally posted by MTV2 No fancy box!!!!!!! LOL, I love fancy boxes too! Believe me, it's a scam. Only buy from original and trusted dealers, or DoggySoup Co. TH3Y 4R3 T3|-| B3STZ0RZ!!
PR-0927 Posted December 20, 2004 Author Posted December 20, 2004 Even the Yahoo! ones or the Academic Stores ones? They don't seem like scams, the other first (MegaSoft) one did. These places have contact info and phone numbers as well. And, you get the CD, not some stupid download.
Datheus Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 To buy software that comes with an academic license, I'm pretty sure the buyer has to be a student in college.
PR-0927 Posted December 20, 2004 Author Posted December 20, 2004 Actually, it shows that you can be a student, a teacher, or a school. Like, anyone of them. K-12 students too.
El Sitherino Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 actually, you have to be a freshmen or higher to get academic discount.
PR-0927 Posted December 20, 2004 Author Posted December 20, 2004 As I said, my Dad is a KSU Physics Professor (with PhD.). I am also in 10th grade.
Joetheeskimo Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Man, nowhere safe these days.... Btw, I advise you to check out PriceGrabber.com for almost anything you need - from computer parts to scanners to video games to Adobe GoLive And the prices are sometimes lower than Amazon. And, they definetely aren't scam artists, because I've successfully bought from them several times and all orders were satisfying.
