My parents are driving me mad!

Grooves, calmly tell your parents exactly what you said at the beginning of this thread. Don't say anything harshly, just nicely and tell them that you didn't want to hurt their feelings, but you had no other option. I'm sure they'll understand.

If that doesn't work, the bridge is at your disposal.

Just lie and say you have a previous engagement every time they start making big plans for your time off. Eventually they'll quit asking, and then both sides can plan your free time together or otherwise.

[EDIT] Or, quit yer whinin' son! And enjoy the few moments you can spend with them now while you can. Go listen to Cats In The Cradle or something.

You obviously must've been playing with yourself during your 8th grade science trip to the planetarium. Galactic borders are defined. We are of course in the milky way, there have been several identified 'neighboring' galaxies, which are of course many 1000s of light years away :D I think you're getting your galaxies and universes mixed up :D

Pffft!!! As if you have ever been there to see for yourself

YOU KNOW NOTHING!

as for your little assumption about the field trip. 2nd, it was the fifth grade and 1st I didn't need to be on a field trip to be able to do that :p

Um, no. :indif:

A bit much?

The thing you have to know about me is that when I do something, I do it right...

Or wrong, whichever way you look at it.

My family is a bit different from others I guess. If something like this ever came up the person would simply say, "Nah, I'd rather be alone and do my own thing tomorrow." or something to that effect. No harm no foul. Will that work for you?

I think its different though. You still have people (or, did recently) live with your parents. I'm guessing Groovy doesn't, and they get lonely and wanna spend time with someone. That someone is their son.
