Seprithro
Ok this kinda thing isnt usually my style, but i kinda like this concept, I call it get bent as you can see it's a curved hilt(dooku like) with a full length sword blade running behind the saber blade. What you cant see from the pic is that i also rotated teh eniter object, so that you hold it outward at an angle in the ready postion, (think how dooku holds his) instead of straight up . My question, is this how does everyone like this concept?
ChAiNz.2da
Hey Sep, I had thought about doing something rather similiar to this. It was a straight hilt, but rather the blade was going straight up through the center whereas the lightsaber blade would kinda 'engulf' the metal blade once flourished. When powered down, it'd look like a normal sword (at least in theory). I was trying to think of how to make a "saber" resemble Mighella's sword: http://www.thelightsaber.com/history4a.htm I like your version, especially the curve and emitter position... though I can't tell from the screenie if the blade is just super thin, or the saber is overpowering the metal blade... I'd almost say lose the metal part, but that's just my meek opinion Still looks great!
Seprithro
at the moment the blade is super thin, here's a better screen of the angle of the ready stance http://gallery51159.fotopic.net/p11514668.html
Mav
Sep, Personally I like the hilt, but the sword blade in the back of it just looks a little weird to me, but I guess it is probably just because I haven't seen it before.
stingerhs
hmm, i like the idea, but the tip of the lightsaber and the sword part don't meet at the top. i'm not sure if the lightsaber part is just bent a little, or if the emitter isn't at the correct angle. otherwise, it looks great. svösh
Sep this is groundbreaking and ingenious you did it my friend , pushing the envelop even further. T7nowhere
It looks interesting, But I don't get it. What is the Purpose of the blade, Theoretical purpose Why would a jedi add the physical blade behind the lightsaber blade. What you would be the benefit. I was trying to think of how to make a "saber" resemble Mighella's sword: http://www.thelightsaber.com/history4a.htm QUOTE] You could get a similar effect by adding an additional mesh over the blade of a sword then useing an animated texture on it. There was an offhand mideval fencing dagger that when you pushed a stud on the handle it split into 3 parts in a V-shape that is meant to do this same sort of thing. Though with this kind of saber you would have to contend with a more normal sword sheath instead of the normal saber hanging from your belt. Just my hair-brained 2 cents! Waaaaay too much PnP RPG-ing for me...

Seprithro
yeah dude that sounds cool, but you put way too much thought into that really the blade was just for looks, but it seems most people think it may be better served as just a nice unquie curved hilt
