Thank you very much, and welcome to the forums, and I must says, RedHawke deserves just as much if not more credit for the Pretige Item Pack, but I'm glad you are enjoying the mods.

Mini-Update: I know I promised you all some in-game screenies of the gun model, but the model has some major texture warping, but I've narrowed it down to a few areas so I should have it completely fixed soon. However, I do need some help from the resident photoshop masters, how would I go about getting an old, rusted metal look in photoshop, similar to the look of the texture of Achilles Ryyk blade? Thanks for any help.

Mav, If you just want a blade or the like to have a "rusted" spot or several; I'd open up KOTORtool and just fish through some of the area and ship textures. You can find some pretty good stuff in there to work from. ;) If I can remember (or you don't respond before me) I'll fish thru em' and see if I can find something for you.

Once you find a "sample" you can just open both files in photoshop and take say a ship texture file with rusted sections on it and select a section of rust. Feather the selection a bit by going into the selection pulldown menu. Try experimenting with feathering the selection 1 or 2 pixels and that will give you a softer edge. Then once feathered simply put the two tga files side by side and drag and drop the sample section onto your target tga.

Then you can use distort, rotate, scale, bla bla bla ;) (you get the point) to resize and shape it to match what your trying to do.

If it's the wrong color hue for your target item you can move the mouse over the new rust layer you created in your target file and holding the CTRL key down click the layer and it will select your "rust" spot(s) again (feathering included) and do an adjustment layer with hue and saturation. You can then adjust the image the way you like.

Hope that helps man, :D

I'll give it a shot later, thanks for the helpful tips DM, I'll give it a shot later and have an in-game screenie up for everyone later, right now I'm playing around with the blaster bolt textures, making some funky blaster bolts... e.g. rainbow.. you get the idea... :animelol:

I normally make my own, if not then there are plugins I like to use as well. If you have xenofex1 or 2 there is a filter called stain , use the rust preset , naturally play with the plugins settings so it looks how you want it too. you will be pleasantly surprised , In a selection on a new layer above what you are working on. You can play with it layer setting set to overlay or multiply ect … and change opacity erase mask ..

An other sweet trick is spotted rust so open your foreground colour and choose a good rust tone make a new layer ;) now to paint brush < airbrush setting ON > soft brush set the size you need for what you want, detailed or whatever depends on your image and the look your are going for. Now set the brush setting to dissolve. The lower the opacity the more sparse the result. I would set anywhere form 8 to 25% and brush away after words you can Ctrl click the layers thumbnail to select the spotted rust to omit it from the alpha you go to channel on your already created alpha and take a white paint brush and paint over so all your rust spots because the layer is still selected you can grab a size 300 pixel hard brush at 100 opacity without any worries. Just paint full white so the rust won’t shine like the rest and will give it that real effect, simple yet effective.

Hope this helps

Thank you very much, for the tips svösh, currently I have a texture using DM's method on the gun model, but I'll try out your method and see which one I like the look of best. Also, I do indeed have Xenofex 1 and 2 as well as Eyecandy, and I enjoy those plug-ins very much :D. Once again thanks svösh, you never cease ot amaze me.

now....you guess it an......

Update

Well, I said I'd try and get you all an in-game screen and I just finished throwing together a collage for you all, I hope you enjoy it.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to say, I'll try and have it out for download tomorrow, I'll try, but don't get your hopes up, I still have to edit the files from the "Mav Shop and Bench" mod to accomodate and write a lengthy readme.

Update

After investigating a reported bug of sorts I discovered a new one, it regards my Mod Store and Bench via the Security System, apparently I didn't see that Xcom's Sith Battle Simulation mod also uses the secsys.dlg file so, in short I will be updating my file, as soon as I get Xcom's permission. This will all happen tomorrow seeing as I just got home from Episode III and it's about 2:30 am.... must sleep. OK thats all for now.

Yea,

I was thinking hey look blue blaster bolts... then I was looking to see if there was anything special about the General Grievous killing blaster. I guess we'll have to wait for some quality screen caps to come out. Oh and I swear if you retire I'm going to hunt you down :p

Well, I'm afraid I'm a bit mod rusty, been playing Star Wars Galaxies quite a bit, wasn't planning on coming back until KotOR 3, but just for you guys, I'll see if I can't dig up some unfinished W.I.P., start school again on the 9th, but at the least if I can't hash everything out, I'll send someone the files to do it :D, now to see if I still have the files...

Nope, I haven't seen an AS Recruit mod... looks like a cool saber though! :D

FYI Mav, you need to fix the link in your sig to our Pr Cl Robe & Saber Pack mod, it has changed since they updated pcgamemods... to this here.

Also I updated the mod to use stoffe -mkb-'s awesome TSL Patcher program, so no more 2da compatability hassles anyway! :D

Don't feel bad Mav I hear you there :D I've not put out anything in a LONG time here either man. ;) I've been doing Battlefront/Battlefront 2 and starting up my own general topic forum for people to use for whatever. I'd like to delve into making a new level or area especially since all of the advances of Fred's K-tool towards module editing/making.

I can't see the pic if there is one of the saber RedHawke was talking about a new saber is always good. :D

Rock on dude, :urpdude:
