Nedumaran
I'd really like it a lot better if Kreia looked like Artris (and of course Artris can use Kreia model files, I won't care). I haven't finished the game so I do not know if there will be any story line implications to changing the looks. I'm curious though as an ignoramus to modding whether it'll be relatively easy to switch the character models for these two characters. Having Kreia look like Artris will be certainly a lot easier on the eyes. I'll be less ashamed to take her with me on missions ! Thanks for any reactions, and may be an actual mod! Darth333
Actually that's pretty easy to do: you only need to extract the .utc files with Kotor tool and change the reference to the line in Appearance.2da and portraits.2da. You can also use scripts to chage the appearance. I don't have nwscript.nss with me right now but it's just a one liner script.
Nedumaran
Thanks, will give it a try and edit the 2da files. I might learn something. I'm not sure about editing scripts. I fear I'd need to compile them and need additional software to do it.
Darth333
You can do it by editing appearance .2da too but it's not necessary. To edit te .utc files, look at my tutorial on "how to recruit a NPC in less than 1 steps": http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=131944 I t has a section on editing .utc files. Just look at the sections that explain how to change the appearance and the portrait.
Archonon
Actually there's a slight storyline implication if you decide to change Atris, since you haven't gotten there I won't say anymore but if you do substitue her for Kreia when that time comes it won't look right. So, just change them into each other. That'll make it look better.
90SK
^^^ In at least one place its impossible. As for others, I wouldn't know.
Bobo
lol. that would be.... weird. when i first saw Atris, i thought her to be Really beautiful and young. but uhh i saw her and shes like, Really old lol. Kreia was a big suprise too. sort of. but to switch them would be weird, because of the storyline. also i noticed in KSE that Atris' appearance files are Party files. and she has a Portrait, indicating that woman in white is a party member. but what would be nice is preventing Kreia from getting that hand whacked off..... *please use the spoiler tags! Many people haven't played the game yet. - Darth333-
Nedumaran
Thanks Darth, your tutorial is excellent. Stuff like this makes people like me enjoy the game a WHOLE lot more. I'll try some other appearance for Kreia than Artris though, based on some of the warnings here. Thanks every body!
Archonon
Ah Nedumaran, the problem isn't changing Kreia, it's Atris the one that has a complication if you change her model. It isn't because of the listed warnings but because of something else. This is sort of a biggie spoiler so you've been warned: You see Atris is revealed to be the third Sith Lord, Darth Traya. When you fight her, she dons a Sith outfit. While the outfit is completely different, the face still resembles original Atris somewhat, after all it's her. If you change Kreia or another model for Atris then when you fight Sith Atris it will look very different from the model you switched That's why I said there's a complication. I think you have that a we bit backwards there. Kreia is Darth Traya. However Atris is a sith of a different nature. Unless it depends on your choices within game that maybe change that. Archonon
Darkender: When youmeet Atris for the last time in the Tayus Academy and fight her and she dons the appearance of the Wicked Queen from Snow White, isn't she renamed Darth Traya? I'm sure she is In any case if he changes Atris there is that problem with the models once that point is reached.
TLM
So you just change "that" model to Atris as well, that way it won't look wierd. Unless someone wants to make an "evil" texture for Atris.
Nedumaran
As I wander around Dantooine, I hear the NPCs whistling as the modified Kreia walks by. She looks good with white hair and a pretty face. I'm on my third planet and I'm sure I'll be visiting the real Artris soon and I don't want to spoil any surprises. So, regretfully, I have to wait till later tonight to read all those juicy, scandalous spoilers.

I'm sure she is Whoa! Are you way off with that statement! Just to clairify, Atris is the Woman in White, her appearance never changes, and she is never at the Trayus Academy... Atris resides on the hidden Jedi Academy on Telos. The Trayus Academy is on Malachor V, and that is where you have your final confrentation with Darth Traya who is Kreia... not Atris. From what you have posted I strongly suggest playing the game again...
Archonon
Hahaha Redhawke I haven't reached that part yet, I've just seen the XBox guide a buddy has. My mistake it wasn't the Trayus Academy it was the Telos Academy. Then who the heck is the Wicked Queen look alike you fight in Telos Academy before going to the Ravager? as I understood it, it's Atris. And from what I recall her name was changed to Darth Traya in the battle. I figured if it was the same person then changing one apperance would not look right once the 2nd appearance is displayed. Then I strongly advise completing TSL before asking any more questions of this nature... all this will be revealed to you as you play. Also the XBox guide has more errors in it than a wheel of Swiss cheese has holes. You fight Atris at the Telos Academy before going to the Ravager, yes... but, Atris is NEVER referred to as Darth Traya!!! Though Atris does talk to Darth Traya in a cutscene. The "Wicked Queen look alike" as you put it is someone else entirely! *Cough* Kreia is Darth Traya *Cough*
Keiko
Haha, RedHawke you kill me, the xbox guide book has as many errors as a wheel of swiss cheese has holes! Haha! Because Kreia says: "There must always be a Darth Traya!"!
Dan_P_Fuller
An alternate ending was planned when Atris was darth treya, but it was cut, along with sooooo much else.
EmperorJello
The problem you refer to no longer exists in the game. There is a model for said problem--I've seen and used it--but it's not implimented.
