Mex
Every time I start up any type of file with a video, my computer will run in slow motion and I have to close it and press ctrl+alt+delete just to get it running normally again. I've tried using different players + etc but I can't fix it. I'm also running a virus scan now, and I'm going to run spyware search and destroy to get rid of it. Help me swampies! ZBomber
It's probably not a virus, you probably just have low memory or something.
Mex
Hmm. Shouldn't be. I upgraded my ram yesterday to 1 gig, was fine before I added more ram. Edit: also, its fine if I'm playing music files, its just video for some reason.
ET Warrior
Lets lookysee, you upgraded your RAM, and suddenly, the computer acts differently. Sounds like you screwed up your upgrade mate.
Mex
I don't see why putting some more ram in would mess up videos, why do computers have to be so annoying sometimes. I found nothing in the virus scan and the spyware scan, looks like its the ram.
TiE23
I don't know if this is true, but could your comp be running thinking that it has lower RAM then it really has? Just thinking out loudly. TiE
Boba Rhett
Are you sure it's the exact same kind of ram as your original?

Most BIOS after 2002 won't allow a boot unless it's the proper RAM. I had this problem when I had my new stick put into a certain slot, I switched out the slots, now it runs perfectly. Perhaps that's your problem, probably wants that stick in a specific slot.
tags
maybe there's just to much stuff saved onto the hard drive. like programs and such. I recommend getting rid of any old programs you don't use any more. but make sure noone else in the household uses them either.

ET Warrior
you might also wanna take a look at your bios on your next startup. It's entirely possible you've got something awry there.
