MdKnightR Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Who are your favorite comedians? I asked this in plural because it is hard for me to narrow it down to just one. Here is my list... Rodney Carrington George Carlin Jeff Foxworthy Bill Engvall Robin Williams Eddie Izzard Bill Cosby Robert Schimmel Jim Carrey
mxsuprastang Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 So many: Jim Carrey Robin Williams Bill Engvall Ron White Kevin James Sinbad Chris Rock George Lopez
Bimmerman Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Will Ferrell Dave Chapelle Vince Vaughn Ben Stiller George Carlin Jay + Silent Bob Owen Wilson
MdKnightR Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 Oh, I also have to add Wayne Brady, Colin Mochery (sp?), Ryan Stiles, and just about anyone else who requented "Who's Line is it Anyway?"
Smilodon Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Hmm, I would say Jim Carrey Martin Lawrence Chris Rock Ben Stiller Can't remember more atm 8/
Bastila Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 mine are Will Ferrell Vince Vaughn Ben Stiller Jay + Silent Bob Owen Wilson Chris Rock
Jeff Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Though he is retired, I would have to say my favorite comedian of all time is Jerry Seinfeld. He is the funniest guy I have ever seen I have all the dvds, and watch them regularly. I even watch the little special features. Some active comedians I like include Dave Chapelle, Chris Rock, and Bruce Bruce.
Jedi Jess Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Will Ferrell Vince Vaughn Ben Stiller Owen Wilson Chris Rock Jim Carrey
Darth InSidious Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Do they have to be alive? That would kinda scupper my list... Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, John Culshaw, Rory Bremner, John Cleese, Richard Curtis, Rowan Atkinson That's the lot that I can think of atm
MdKnightR Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 Wow, a lot of you guys picked Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller! Didn't both of them come from SNL? As far as that cast is concerned, the best comedians that that show produced came pre-1985. Names like John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Dan Ackroyd, Eddie Murphy, and Billy Crystal come to mind. IMHO, Adam Sandler is the only comedian to come from that show in 20 years that has made me laugh. He's hilarious! Honestly, if this were a list of my least favorite, Stiller and Ferrell would round out the top 2.
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 I think you guys forgot Richard Pryor (he ain't dead yet m^!*&^%@# ) , as well as Lenny Bruce (RIP). You're also naming actors, not comedians...

Jeff Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 How can nobody else like Seinfeld? He's the funniest guy to ever walk the earth! Come on!

Come on! <MdKnightR pats DarthMoeller on the back> it'll be okay. Some day you'll realize how blind the Dark Side of the Force has made you and turn away from it you shall. Seriously though, I have never found him to be the least bit funny. I was appalled when his show was voted to be the #1 sitcom of all time above the Honeymooners.
RedHawke Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I like so many comedians for so many different reasons... many of them listed thus far, but one that hasn't yet been mentioned in this thread is; Rodney Dangerfield Not only was he very funny, he also helped launch so many comedians careers...

I can't believe that I forgot about Dangerfield! A pure comic genius! AND that reminds me of another great comedian (they were in a movie together as a matter of fact)...Sam Kinison!
mxsuprastang Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Ya, the actors being named are actors, not comedians, I have never seen Ferrel or Stiller do stand up. And Stiller didn't start out on SNL, just your old, regular funny actor. I also forgot some Ray Ramano Jerry Seinfeld

RedHawke Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Originally posted by MdKnightR What, now you're a comedian? And yes MdK I also forgot Sam Kinison... he was unique!

mxsuprastang Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I may get bombarded for this but Ellen Degeneres is funny to me, way funny *shrug*
RedHawke Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 ^^^^ *Readies a barrel full of rotten fruit to hurl at mxsuprastang...* J/K! Ellen isn't bad at all!
MdKnightR Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 Originally posted by mxsuprastang I may get bombarded for this but Ellen Degeneres is funny to me, way funny *shrug* She used to be funny. I don't really care much for her now. Somebody that my wife likes a lot is Mark Lowry. Anyone know who he is? He is a Christian entertainer. Pretty funny!
