Because skills in one area offten build them in another when it comes to cooking. I know when I started cooking I started with mac and cheese and now I'm the main cook when big family get togethers come around. I probably have the weirdest intrests of any programmer. I've found most don't have any creativity in them:D um prime the key word there is MOST:p

I'd say that would be something very hard to master making especially since several types of fish they use are poisonous & the like. I personally could never bring myself to act all "Golem Like" and eat raw fish. General Kenobi

But ya sushi is hard to make, it takes 3 hours for the rice (one hour to soak it, one hour to drain it and one hour to cook it), but if you do it in the quantities my family makes it in you have 3-4 platters worth. One other thing: the reason you can eat the fish safely is 'cause the vinegar and someother stuff in the sushi PICKLES the fish.
MdKnightR
Originally posted by Hallucination Oh can anyone else here make sushi? Sure, I can cut up a dead fish and serve it to you raw. And if it isn't raw, it is damn close to it. But I would rather let the fish live.

Bimmerman
My friend and I created the perfect sandwich last night(in our opinions): bread, cooked bacon, chicken pieces, turkey pieces, (neither chiken/turkey are prepackaged deli meats) guacamole, swiss cheese, mayo if you want. Melt the cheese over all the ingredients, then add guac/mayo to your liking. Its sooooo good.

stingerhs
my personal favorite: pineapple chicken. thaw out several boneless chicken breasts and place them in an airtight container (or a ziploc baggy). prepare a sauce composed of one part teriyaki sauce and two parts crushed pineapple (preferably fresh, not canned and with the juices) and mix 3/4 with the chicken in the container. save the other 1/4 for later. let the container sit in your fridge overnight (or 24 hours for best flavor). fire up the ol' grill and cook on a low flame. use a brush to apply the remaining sauce to the chicken between flips. serve when ready. Commas
i really love to cook, i took some classes at the local jc during my senoir year, an intro to cooking class and an italian cooking class. the italian class was absolutley brilliant, the food was soooooo good. for my girlfriend's birthday i cooked her homemade pasta carbonara. i didn't use no wuss bag store bought pasta, hell no, i rolled my own i even chopped up some herbs and put them right in the pasta dough, it gave the pasta a sort of green hue. i also bought some fresh pancheta from the local italian deli. probably one of the best dishes i ever made. when i can't find think of anything good to cook on my own i tend to watch cooking shows especially Good Eats with Alton Brown, by far my favorite television chef, but just a week or so ago i made this recipe for chicken tacos from bobby flay. normally i can't stand bobby flay's voice, but these looked really good, and they were! the grillied tomatillo salsa was so good i went back to the supermarket the next day so i could make another batch just to dunk chips in. MdKnightR
I love sushi and most people probably haven't had it cuz they are chicken Well, in all actuality, I wasn't exposed to sushi until after I gave up the eating of animals altogether. As for people being chicken, I feel the same way about people who balk at my peanut butter and pickle sandwiches.
