idle
A sure-fire way to send bumfaces across the world into a steaming fit of rage. Recast Star Wars! It could be fun. If the OT were to be remade who would you cast to fill those legendary boots? We all know it could never be remade and it's impossible to find a replacement for Ian McDiarmid but still! Comedy decisions are welcome. ^_^ Luke Skywalker Joseph Gordon Levitt Yeah, the little goon-faced guy from Third Rock from the Sun. Who can also act! See Mysterious Skin. It's the hardest role to fill, he has stood out for me this year and he deserves a chance at a blockbuster. In saying that Zach Braff was my second choice. :| Really hard for me to find someone to fit the bill. Han Solo Christian Bale Just look at him! He epitomises cool. Christian Bale has that rogue-looking grin permanantly plastered to his face, he has a range of acting skills and is one of the most (if not THE most) dedicated actors of our generation. (See The Machinist for proof...and only a few months later he was buffed up to play Batman!) Plus... \/ Princess Leia Organa Shannyn Sossamon Just imagine this Han/Leia couple! <3<3<3 The kids! The kids! Relativly unknown (Rules of Attraction being the only movie I've seen her in, I HATED the movie but she was a stand-out) and she is utterly, utterly stunning. Ben Kenobi Daniel Day Lewis Not as old as Alec Guinness but it makes sense comparing with the prequals age difference. He's one of the greatest actors to come from this side of the atlantic and he suits the beard! To be honest I wasn't overly impressed with Sir. Guinness's performance in SW and it's not an unknown fact he disliked the movies and hated turning up to work so perhaps DDL could improve on it! Grand Moff Tarkin Sean Penn He can play evil. Delivers an acting master class in every performance and he has a distinctive face, the kind Tarkin is famous for. To be continued...
idle
Lando Calrissian Mos Def Suave and "down wid it!". Bloody great actor too (check out The Woodsman). I can't imagine anyone else stealing Billy Dee's role. C-3PO Stephen Fry He is the voice of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy if you've seen it. Would wipe away that campy angle (which is crap to be honest) and just add a bit of class to the character. (I know he's supposed to be annoying, but I'm sure he could pull it off without just having an annoying voice). Wedge Antilles Bill Moseley Better known as Choptop from the Texas Chain Saw Massacre sequals or Otis from House of 1000 Corpses/The Devil's Rejects. I dunno, I just saw this pic and was intrigued to see him in a role where he isn't cutting anyone up or swearing every half a second. I <3 Bill Moseley. He'd be a great Wedge. Biggs Darklighter Simon Pegg Oooooooh...this speaks for itself. Simon Pegg is one of the biggest known Star Wars fans in Britain, he made that film, I forget it's name...ROMZOMCOM or something, I hear it went down well in the states. Joke. God, this man is God. BUY SPACED! BUY SHAUN OF THE DEAD! DAMMIT, BUY HIS SHOELACES IF HE SELLS THEM ON eBAY. I think he'd prefer to go Red Leader so he could go on the bomb run and then get blown up by Darth Vader but I'd love him to have some dialogue with Luke. Jek Porkins Nick Frost Quite simply, it's the role he was born for.
El Sitherino
If they did remake Star Wars, you'd get no objection from me if Christian Bale was cast.

Kain
But isn't there also a limit on pictures on a single post? BTW: Who the hell is Joseph Levitt and why should he be invited?
idle
There's an edit button you know Also that's scary yet interesting Noted. I was trying to make a precedent that every post should have no more than 5, any more would just get tiring to read through. I was saving up my second post but I ended up posting it because I spent ages pondering through it. Apologies for any hassle caused. But isn't there also a limit on pictures on a single post? BTW: Who the hell is Joseph Levitt and why should he be invited? Yeah, the little goon-faced guy from Third Rock from the Sun. Who can also act! See Mysterious Skin. It's the hardest role to fill, he has stood out for me this year and he deserves a chance at a blockbuster. In saying that Zach Braff was my second choice. :| Really hard for me to find someone to fit the bill. Who the hell was Mark Hamill before he was cast in Star Wars? That was actually one of the main reasons I cast him and Shannyn Sossamon in two big roles, to keep that tradition of "relatively unknown" going. Makes sense rather than "JOHNNY KNOXVILLE AS LOOK AND ANGELINA JOLIE AS PRINCESS LEIA LOL!" This isn't supposed to just be my choices, feel free to suggest someone better if you can think of anyone. Although Luke and Leia's faces don't match with those two pics...if Benicio Del Toro can change his face for Sin City then we could do it with this! I'm sure there's been other threads with more than 1 pic in them, if it's against the rules I could always cut up my posts into 1 pic a post...although that may get me into trouble for not using the edit button~! LORDY.
Astrotoy7
heh.... most of those choices seem ok, except that little dweeb from 3rd Rock... cmon, Luke is actually meant to be ...swashbuckling might as well get Macauley Culkin ! Cristian Bale = awesome ...anyone who has seen "Reign of Fire" will remember the little star wars parody he did in that mtfbwya

Cristian Bale = awesome ...anyone who has seen "Reign of Fire" will remember the little star wars parody he did in that mtfbwya I dunno, I like my Luke choice, it's hard to find someone around the right age and he can pull off moany little prat in the first movie and then actually start having some character and tragedy behind him afterwards. That scene in Reign of Fire is one of my favourite scenes EVER. - - - - - - My next batch: The Emperor Gary Oldman If he can pull of being thousands of years old as Dracula or can play a half eaten bed-ridden freak (Hannibal) then he can be The Emperor. This guy always excels as the bad guy and is excellent at being dramatic. Would be a stroke of genius to cast him. Bib Fortuna Brad Dourif Is mostly known as some guy in Lord of the Rings but he will always just be the voice of Chucky and the Gemini Killer to me. Geniunely creepy man who could be Fortuna without the make-up. He's amazing. Captain/Admiral Piett Kevin Spacey I actually just came up with this after I saw a picture of the original Admiral Piett and mistook it for Kevin Spacey. He's not half a bad actor either. Mon Mothma Sigourney Weaver She's the first name that comes to mind and she suits the role, simple. Ok, so I'm running out of character ideas, time to step into the prequals/EU i think! Joruus C'Baoth Sean Connery Speaks for itself. Sean would be a "****e for shore eyes" (as he says) in the role.

idle
And people complain about Lucas ruining Star Wars... Haha!! *bows* You took a lot longer than expected. Like, WOAH, I got two letters mixed up. The shame. And no what? No Sean Connery or NO this discussion? Taking it all a little seriously in either case, if you don't like the thread then the close button is right up there on your right hand side. If you disagree with a choice of actor then get a better one up and actually make this a discussion. LucasForums can be so bloody crap at times. coupes.
Dude, calm down. I was merely pointing out the mistake, this could have been a typo, or maybe you meant to write it this way, I don't know. Either way, you spelled it wrong, and I simply corrected you, don't make such a big deal out of it. And i was reffering to your casting choice for Joruus C'Baoth, I personnally think Sean Connery, as good an actor as he may be, would make an horrible Joruus C'Baoth, I really can't picture him in that role. Not that it really matters because there wouldn't even be a need for such a character if the OT was re-made. And I think it's you who is taking this a little too seriously, getting all fired up over such a trivial thing. Take it easy, life is short

idle
Are you serious? that little faggot from 3rd rock from the sun should die and he looks nothing like Skywalker. Where is your compassion? do you not care about the meaning of the SW cast? you should be ashamed...... I'm sick of explaining that if you don't like the choice you suggest someone else! The Luke idea was obviously there to spark debate and get people suggesting better idea's but so far no-one has, so he must not be that bad! Mark Hamill looked like a weakling in A New Hope and there is such a thing as make-up and costume, looking like a badass Jedi from the get-go doesn't get you the part. And what age are you? You still say faggot? Grow up.
Jan Gaarni
Yeah, Mark may have looked like a weakling, but Joseph looks like a young teenager. Just don't fit the role in my mind. As for an alternative, I don't have one though, but definatly not him.
idle
Yeah, Mark may have looked like a weakling, but Joseph looks like a young teenager. Isn't that age group he's supposed to be? Another idea for Luke that came to my mind was Cillian Murphy (from 28 Days Later and Batman Begins) but he's a bit old for the role. Never know! Jan Gaarni
Hmm, well, possibly. But the thing is, I'm an old fart now (28 ) and I'm accustomed with the people in the movies already, so it's hard for me to think of who else could fill the roles. But maybe you're on to something there.
