I know this article is a bit old, but I'd like to know what you all think about Nintendo's new ideas. So, what do you all think about it?

Personally, I love it everything about it. At first I was skeptical, but once I read more about everthing, I thought "I'm definately getting this console." And they are trying to get it under $200. That's unheard of.

I guess I meant more compared to the other next-gen consoles, but you are right, I guess I didn't think about how low nintendo's consoles always are. But still, for something as advanced as this, while it won't be as advanced as 360 or PS3, I don't know how they can afford to make it so cheap.

Honestly, I've never gotten into nintendo beause of the kind of games most of their titles seem to be.

So two questions,

#1 I like the idea of that new controler, but would preffer to use a standard pad for most games, will they have a new take on the standard controler as well?

#2 Will they start making more X-boxish and even Sonyish games?

I think the wand is a bad idea. It will be fun....up to a point. Could you imagine playing some kind of football game, or an airplane combat game? It just wouldn't feel right to me.

Yup, I can imagine it. All you have to do is to forget about how it USED to be done and you'll be able to imagine it too. :p I'd like an X-Wing game just so I can control it using the pointer.

The Revolution is has a virtual backwards compatible thing going on so you can play NES, SNES and N64 games on it as well as GCN games. Nintendo has already said that there's an add-on for the controller which will cater to traditional gaming for their legacy games as well as ports from other consoles and for lazy developers.

And what are X-Boxish and Sonyish games exactly?

I meant another new controller, with even more new features, but still with the Gpad feel, I just don't find remotes as comfortable as the "Duke"

Less "kid friendly" Either they need to assasinate everyone in their advertising dept. or all nintendo games are marioish kids games, or just based on nostalgia:(

I'd get it if they made more hardcore gritty epic bloody games:)

The Revolution controller has a expansion port at the bottom of it, Nintendo hasn't shown us a mockup of what the traditional shell expansion will look like but here's my own crappy rendition.

It's designed this way, as an expansion, because then you'd be able to use the Revolution's unique abilities along with the traditional setup for ports.

Nintendo does have less "kid friendly" games. Just because Nintendo themselves don't release them doesn't mean you won't find them on a Nintendo console. The general view is just because Nintendo releases games as well as making their own hardware that for some reason all that they have on their consoles are Nintendo made games. Well obviously that's wrong.

"hardcore gritty epic bloody games"?

Killer 7 comes to mind.

Oh and here's a nice Nintendo advert for you: http://n-next.com/mouse.mov

I definately agree here. I can just imagine how cool the motion sensors will be. I love the idea for the new controller. And all those concept sketches for the controller shells that have been made, they look awesome.
