locoguan0
Just wonder if there are any made or being made (other than the Restoration Project). I know its not legal, but has anyone used a Kotor planet in Kotor II?
Emperor Devon
If you want a planet mod so badly, make one yourself. And since it's not legal to port KOTOR content into TSL, I doubt anyone will tell you if they have.
90SK
I brainstormed about doing one for a little while. But after some research, I realized that I was just having bipolar induced delusions of grandeur.
RedHawke
Just wonder if there are any made or being made (other than the Restoration Project). I wasn't aware the Restoration project was adding a Planet to the game, the Droid Factory I heard and that's on Telos, but not a planet. I know its not legal, but has anyone used a Kotor planet in Kotor II? Holowan Labs Forum Rules & Etiquette Rule #14! Sorry! We cannot even talk about this. locoguan0
If I had the time or the know-how I would gladly do so... There are people on this forum who just download stuff, you know?
Pavlos
Creating new planets means that there is a lightmap issue within the modules, in laymans terms this means it is pitch black I have actually sent off an email to Obsidian Entertainment about what tools they used for creating modules etc. and if there is anyway of overcoming that lightmap issue. Darth InSidious
I am working on a Rhen Var mod, by re-using the models of another planet or three...It's going to be a fairly small map, but there's gonna be a lot going on there
Pavlos
How are you reusing models from other modules? Do you mean the whole module from another planet or have you stitched one together. If the latter tell me how! If the former, cool- I'm probably going to be adding in that famed second set of docks with some new sidequests and NPCs etc.
Darth InSidious
Yes, I'm re-using a couple of pre-made modules....

Black_Eye_90
if your eager for a new planet mod, you will certainly be interested in what were doing to M4-78 heres the link http://www.geocities.com/m4_78/M4-
kdsphantom
Hiya Pavlos My lil Halloween mod (for TSL) is like set on the system Transvania heh like a lil halloween joke. But its just a halloween style mod, its a simple starter mod for me, I used it simply to learn how to make mods, write scripts, create events and so on, heh you even still have to use a cheat code to get to it. So its not really very good atm. In the Ed wood style of one shot film making, that is one shot and we move on to the next scene, Darth InSidious was kind enough to give me some feedback but so far thats all i got on it =/ heh, but its in the mod release forum and I invite you to try it out. I used 3 zones in it, Iziz Market, Telos apartments and Malacore well end game zone for it, the modules are able to piece together using Freds great KT's. The game doesn't care what zones link to what zones, as in its jsut numbers to it, well it seems to me, thou I wouldnt argue it with anyone, and I totally support Blackeye 90 they are doing great work at the M4-78 project, they doing the real deal. But seemed to me making new zones was next to impossible but a new planet with just peicing together the maps we have in different alignments. Kinda like I did and I think RedHawke with his great Ord mantel kotor 1 mod, heh Redhawke Id know for sure cept they beat me up man, my guys werent that tough last time I played kotor 1. Hope that helps kdsphantom
Pavlos
Yeh, well with the next release of KT maps hopefully Fred will have sorted out a walkmesh issue so about half of 202TEL will be opened up, I'm probably going to be using that and also have a new set of docks but right now I'm concentration on 1) HUGELY IMPORTANT EXAMS!!!! Agh! Run for your lives! and 2) Getting the Medic or Murderer side-quest I've started on sorted out.
Teancum
I know its not legal, but has anyone used a Kotor planet in Kotor II? Holowan Labs Forum Rules & Etiquette Rule #14! Sorry! We cannot even talk about this. I hate to bump a thread, but I've been thinking about rule #14, and though I don't know whether the KotOR II engine can run the KotOR I modules (one would assume it can) I could easily make an installer that for such a mod that would check for files on all four KotOR I CD's (I don't think it was ever released on DVD) to verify that a person owns the original. I suppose in that way such things would be legal, but I am no lawyer. Thoughts?
90SK
But it doesn't nullify the fact that files are being transferred from KotOR I to KotOR II, which is still very much illegal.
Det. Bart Lasiter
[shameless_plug]You'll just have to wait for the M4-78 mod to be finished for a new planet [/shameless_plug] Also, the KotOR models are different from the KotOR II models by 8 bits (or bytes, I forget which one...) .
