SyntheticGerbil Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Sell one to a less fortunate fan. But pick a good one.
itchythesamurai Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Heh, I got my first copy like seven or eight years ago, and it was so hard to get that I wrote my name really big on the inside front cover so that I'd never sell it. Are there any less fortunate fans on this board...?
SyntheticGerbil Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 I think if there were any left they went ahead and bought it for 80 dollars on Ebay. Speaking of rare books, anyone have the Complete Little Nemo book for under 80 dollars?
mxbx Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I've got two copies that I've found at used book-stores pretty cheap, and I want to sell 'em to some fans, not at ridiculous eBay prices, but hopefully still at a profit (I'm trying to save some money for a DS Lite). If anyone is interested in one, let me know. My email address is perplexagon at gmail dot com.

sheaday6 Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 i've been tearing the pages out of my copy so that I could pick up dead roaches and flush them. Seriously, roaches are really gross you guys. And ive been using the cover as a coaster for my gin and laxatives. Oh, I have money invested in the Hot Topic franchise, so i'd appreciate it if you wouldn't speak poorly of the store in front of the impressionable youth.
Doomstalk Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Long ago in the days of yore (when I was still in high school), I bought not one, but two copies of Surfin' the Highway in first edition hardcover off of Amazon.com (told you it was a long time ago). One of them has been read a lot and the dust jacket has seen better days (book itself is still in very good to excellent condition), but the second one is a signed and numbered collectors edition (#83 out of 1250) and is in brand new condition. Do you guys think that one is worth anything? I'm not planning on selling it any time soon, but it's one of those "Nice to know" kinds of things.
SyntheticGerbil Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Well it won't be worth **** if they rerelease it, so you'd better sell it soon. Besides signatures are weak.
Doomstalk Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Besides signatures are weak. *shrug* I bought it on a whim, honestly. And without reading the description very well I might add. They had it listed as "Signed col edition" and I took "col" to mean "color". I was mildly disappointed about that, though getting such a low serial was a nice surprise. Oh well, I'll just return to my state of shock that the book is worth anything at all. I love it to death, but I never knew it was all that rare.
Doomstalk Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I'm sorry? If I've broken any taboos, I apologize, but I'm not certain what I did.
Samnmax221 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 We don't take kindly to people who apologize around here
Doomstalk Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Do you take kindly to people who offer punch and pie? Because I can do that if you want.
Doomstalk Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Yes? Er, I mean no... I mean, shouldn't I buy you dinner or something first?
itchythesamurai Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Five posts and you have already managed to insult my entire ancestry?! They were a great people, damn you! They worked hard every single day of their lives and they didn't complain about it! Your behavior is unacceptable in the utmost! I challenge you to a duel! Good day, sir! I said, good day, sir!
itchythesamurai Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Ha, I'll so mail you some from Singapore. Just try me. There's KFC everywhere here.
Doomstalk Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Ah, so you're the bastard scion of the Tso and the Sanders families?
Samnmax221 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 or he's a military brat, I've never bothered to ask.
itchythesamurai Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 That's hurtful, Samnmax. I'm just here on holiday. And I'm way too much of a leftist ne'er-do-well to support the armed forces.
Samnmax221 Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 On Holiday from where? Please tell be you like money?!! Besides Military brat is a term for children of service men.
itchythesamurai Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Heh, I'm from the Ulcered Sphincter of Asserica. My pop works in the oil industry, and there's a rig stationed here, so they wanted him on site. Visiting for the summer. Money's fine by me.
