Mercenary Crew: Age of the Empire

"Not sure..." Jana murmured. She called up to the cockpit. "Hey! How close are we?"

 

Meanwhile, Riebe laughed. "Inferior because I should have been able to plough straight through the shield generator without much of a dent... should have been able to fly through the bridge once the shield generator was down and fly out the other side, but I mixed something else in for the last repairs I did, so that didn't much work."

Ryshana knew they would put two and two together soon enough, so she wasn't surprised when they came into realization. Ryshana could feel ships being launched in the distance, and that meant TIE's coming in to hopefully cripple the ship.

 

She watched everyone start to move to get to their battle stations, and Ryshana felt surprisingly helpless for a moment. As Nic got up to head to the back, Ryshana felt she had to say something. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't-"

 

he then faces Ryshana "I'll deal with you later."

 

As he headed for the common room, Ryshana followed him. "Now wait a second, what exactly is that supposed to mean? I just have to sit around and wait for you to judge me?" Ryshana was about to say more but stopped as she realized that her emotions were getting the best of her.

 

Looking at Nic, she suddenly felt like he was in danger. But why would he be in danger and... she started to think before she felt one of the TIE's about to break through the barrage of fire outside. The TIE opened fire on the Echo, and the blaster fire hit an exhaust port which fused it shut. With pressure suddenly starting to build up, the joint in the exhaust pipe began to stress. Ryshana felt the pressure buildup, and realized that it was coming from just above Nic. He's about to die, Ryshana thought.

 

Gathering the Force in her legs, the same as before, Ryshana rushed forward and tackled Nic. As they were still in midair, the pressure buildup finally ruptured from the joint. The resulting explosion was akin to a frag grenade going off, and both Nic and Ryshana were just beneath the pipe. Since Ryshana was on top of Nic, her body absorbed the shards of metal that flew outwards from the explosion while Nic went unscathed from the explosion.

 

As they hit the ground, Ryshana knocked her head against the floor and was knocked unconscience.

"Come on, come on!" Jack shouted at the computer consel infront of him "Bingo! Beryl get your ass in here, now!. We're ready to enter hyperspace!" He shouted into the intercom.

As Nic hit the floor, He managed to turn himself around and see the jedi get hit by shards, Ryshana was quickly knocked unconcious. Nic looked down at her the thought that it would be alot easier to leave her for dead, Nic then cursed outloud knowing he had to help her, she did save his life after all. Nic Grabbed Ryshanna and through her over his shoulder, he ran strait to the infirmary.

 

On arrival Oliver was not there, "damn it, What do i pay it for?" Nic placed Ryshana on the bed and hit the Intercom. "Oliver you worthless son of a Rancor, Get here now."

When Beryl turned to go back to the Echo she saw 'SithHunter' fly over the ship and then swoop underneath. The little fighter did not reappear on the other side. That's how she stuck around! She was attached to the hull of the Echo!

 

"Hope you guys don't mind," she told Beryl. "This thing is a bit old to have a hyperdrive installed... no space for one. Hitched a ride from Alderaan to the station... needed a ride back. From Alderaan, I'll be on my own way... got an old hyperspace ring in orbit there... but I'm rambling. Let's get out of here!"

"See 'ya round SithHunter," Beryl said as she took out two more TIEs along the quickest route into the Echo. "Or maybe we should change your call sign to 'HitchHiker'?"

 

She did a turbo-braking manoevre, bringing the Headhunter in fast and hard. But not fast enough to avoid a glancing blow from one of the TIEs guns.

 

"Damn," she said under her breath, as sparks sputtered from the controls. "Okay, Goren, I'm in!" she shouted on the comm. "Shut the damn doors and hit it!"

Riebe chuckled. "SithHunter will do. Signing off for now."

 

She powered her fighter down completely except for life support.

 

On the Echo, Jana followed Nic as he carried Ryshana to the infirmary.

 

"That's two counts we owe her on, Sir," she said quietly. "She's saved both of us now."

The gates shut on the hit of a botten from Jack's consel and with the hit of another botten the Echo entered hyperspace. Jack wiped some sweat off from his thorehead and said to himself "What a day. First we have an escaped galactic mass murder and second we get attacked by a dreadnaught and barely make it out alive. I need a drink..."

Beryl opened the bubble hatch and hit the extinguishers, coughing as the smoke and the extinguishers fumes gagged her. When the fire was out, and she was nearly blue from trying to hold her breath, she got out to check the damage. There was a small searing gap on the side of the nose.

 

Not serious. Good. It was only the tracking computer that was really damaged.

 

Repairable. Good. Plus, she could do without it if need be.

 

But to replace it? Expensive. Bad. She'd have to win a lot of hands of Pazaak at their next stop. Either that or she could... She shuddered at the thought. Oh no. Not that. Have to be something way more important than a tracking computer to do that again!

 

She locked down the Headhunter, and hurried up to the bridge. Reaching the open door of the medbay, she stopped dead in her tracks at the sight of Nic and Jana tending over the injured and unconscious Ryshana.

 

"Oh, no." She shook her head. "Nic, what is it with you and passengers?!" she asked incredulously. Not waiting for an answer, she ran to Oliver's door and beat on it. "Hey, Impe! Wake up! You've got a patient!"

 

Back to the medbay. "If he doesn't come soon, don't worry," she said to Nic. "I've watched him patch me up enough times that I know what to do in a pinch."

((occ- I Think we're pratically at the end and if we attempt to drag it out we'll get annoyed with it, So with that i'm going to make this the last post with a minimal amount of char control.))

 

one hour later...

 

Nic Was alone with the still unconcious, Oliver eventually made it into the Infirmary and stabilised the jedi, She'll be just fine. Jana and Beryl had already left the infirmary along with impe on Nics Order.

 

Nic saw Ryshana start to come around, so he stood over the Jedi so she could see him. "Don't try to move or talk, Impe gave you a relaxant to prevent any damage to your spin. You have brought a whole heap of trouble to my ship, but you did save mine and Jana's life... The Wookie have a honour thing, You save one of their lives and his life is indebted to you forever, well 'til one of you die anyway. I'm no wookie, but i do beleive in 'pay back' , You Saved my life now i'm going to save yours... If you stay in one place, you will be discovered. on the move you won't and we're always on the move... You can stay on board for as long as you like."

 

With that Nic walked to the Door and exited the room...
