Chemmy
The ability to determine which ships will initially be attacking and which will be waiting to hyper in. I want my initial combat force to just be 3 x wings and 2 y wings so I can hyper in the big guns after scouting around.
DarkLord1981
An Important feature is when you need to escort specific units in to a certain location. (ie. escort pilots to steal x-wings) What i want is the ability to keep them in your reinforcements menu so you can secure the area before calling them in, because i have them in my group, the AI ignores ALL my other units and just attacks them, knowing if they die......game over. (unless the AI decides to spawn run-over infantry tanks) So, having the ability to keep Mission Critical Units in reserve for when its safe would be excellent. Also, another good feature would be having the ability to start a custom game with one planet on both sides and build from there, instead of starting with 5+ planets, it just confuses me to no end. The feature someone else stated about neutral planets saying they need help and in return, they will pledge allegenge to your faction. (good feature, good thought m8) Also, i think all armor units (tanks, all forms of walkers etc.) should take VERY little damage to no damage by Anti-Infantry units, but take extra damage from Anti-Armor units. Because i have had 2-3 squads of normal infantry and taken out 5 AT-STs with little to no losses on my side. You guys know what i mean?
popcorn2008
I was thinking that it would be fun to have deep space combat implemented. And here is how: When an enemy fleet is approaching, you can take your fleet on that planet and move it, so the two fleets overlap while traveling. Then the game will generate a random space map and then you go at it in deep space. This would be real fun, in my opinion . Then at the end any surviving units keep going to their destination. Tom Servo
1. A lot of researches, like upgrading ship armor and such, and some late tech upgrades to ships that arent used much in later techs. 2. Veterancy would be great. 3. Bigger maps, but i guess this is a sure thing in the inevitable expansion.
wedge2211
Veterancy would be a nice addition to the idea of persistent forces. Just give ships and companies a small damage or health bonus after they've survived a battle (or, maybe, three battles, five battles, etc), and put a little rank flag on them in the galactic map. Substitute this scheme for field and fleet commander bonuses. (Or, maybe, have the last rank of veterancy be field/fleet commander status.) And visible names for ships, smugglers, whatever, would definitely be fun.

Breiti
OK, all I want to have for an expansion is this : NO MOD ! And what does that mean ? I won´t buy something I could get in a mod - I won´t buy an expansion with the clone wars setting or Episode1,2,5,6 etc setting. I won´t buy new ships and troops as long as the game stays the same. I want real changes. Something like a more complex ressource management, more tactical options in ground battle, something that changes the play experience. I know that many of you think that this is not going to happen, because EaW is good and mayor changes are for mayor release but hey ... : Think about it : You get mods for free and if I pay 20 € more I get a complete new game (like BFME2 for example). So maybe we could call it the "curse of the MODs" but I want real changes, not just new factions.
R1ob6
1. Luke in a Snowspeeder on Ground combat (Rouge Squadren) 2. have the ability to have an air field so the defenders can launch bombing runs maybe have the options of have a field for bombers to luanch bombing runs or a air field for fighters to prevent bombing runs. 3. more reasearch you will advance through all the levels in less then an hour on a large gc map. 4. Take out the broadside and the maurder corvette. Those missel units are useless and they seem to get in the way of lasers and thats all the AI builds, tweak the AI to acutally build real star wars ships. 5. Less ship yards, Have only certian planets the ability to build ships larger than corevetts and because that have the ability to raid the ship yards with fighter squadrens to try and destroy production and retreat. 6. Replace the Tartian with a Carrak. 7. better hero management, actually have a story to get them, i.e. some event or mission you have to go on. 8. Have lukes lucky shot not work on a level 5 space stations hanger, you have him do that right at the beging of battle it makes the rest of the battle very easy. wedge2211
After playing some more, I think that I'd love to see an expansion or sequel that has much bigger space maps (perhaps four times the width and height of the current maps). The ground maps are fine, with plenty of room to choose your approach and maneuver your units into strategic positions. The space maps, however, are a bit cramped--especially given the range of the laser cannons in this game. More that once I've jumped an attack fleet into an enemy system and found their space station firing on me as soon as I get control of my ships. Capital ships are huge and have to swing around in a wide arc to move and rotate, making them use up precious map space in maneuvers. I've found that my space battle tactics are getting very algorithmic, while on the ground maps, I have plenty of opportunities to use terrain, distance, and unit strengths to my advantage. Tokarev
Only thing I can think of atm is that certain planets have a dislike for one faction or another and when invading or defending, they'll take up arms against the faction they dislike. For example, Mon Calamari favors the Rebellion, so their civilians would take up arms against the invading Imperial forces or while they are defending. Once you take over, they'll still have a dislike for the Imperials anyway. What I would like to see are forces at given times rebelling against the planet without the presence of either faction to really justify keeping your ground forces when the opposing faction is not within reach anytime soon. Perhaps a unit that would train to help incite a rebellion and used much like smugglers for example that could pass any planets whether fortified or not. Much like what the Rebel Infiltrator can do, however able to train and so on. To make things a little more fair, they can capture vehicles too (already have some on hand to use against whatever faction). If it was random, it would happen either too little or a lot at given times.

Grov
More units. B-Wings, Venators. The Executer would be awesome, if it could be done. Id love to see more variants of the Mon Cal crusiser, i.e MC80a, MC90. Tone down Rebel artillery fire. Make AT-AT's immune to laser fire from troops. Bigger space maps. There are to many to name. wedge2211
As to your request for more units, consider that any expansions will probably cover other timeframes than Episodes III-IV. I'd guess that we'll see an expansion that takes the Empire at War timeline out to Return of the Jedi, giving you all the new fighters and cruiser variants you like. Jmaster3265
I would also like to add. 1. Get rid of the build pads. 2. Possibly have more options when deciding to make your base. (ex:Being able to choose the buildings you'd like in skirmish.) 3. When heroes die (in land) keep a body there like when troops die. Or make something exciting happen not just the body to disepear..... 4. Possibly make the maps have more buildings, more realistic to the movies. (ex: in the skirmish Naboo is so plain, not many buildings Theed is practically not there. Only thing that is there is the palace high on up and a few scattered buildings. (BORING)
popcorn2008
I wouldnt recommend getting rid of build pads as they can really change the tide in combat.

LO12DS_PiRaTe
i second, or third, or fourth the EP1-2-3, 5 &6 idea. It is obvious in all the reading i have encountered while surfing the forums, that people have a love for the "venator" class SD. Only Pirates having it is a crock. Yes putting a Venator against a ISD is ridiculous, but this iswhere you could use different time periods and upgrades. IE. Venators and acclamators vs the TFF Cruiser ship/droid control/battle ship like in the Battle of Coruscant. EP3 ACclamators vs Droid Control ships. EP2 EP1,, not sure, nothing really matches up with the Droid Control ships. But that leads to having the TFF/Confederacy/BankingClan involved. At some point in the time periods, you would need to decide which side you take Rebels or Galactic Empire. Another twist. If this game had all the factions like, Wookies, Confeds, TFF, Naboo, Gungan,Republic, MOn Calamari, and later on the GE, RA forces like SWGB it would be a fantastic game with more playablity. It is a lot of work, and as good as people are at Modding the game, i still think nothing beats the real game makers making it. Just some thoughts, Scott Two civs to me is just a little too restrictive.
Jmaster3265
Also to add 1. Being able to repair building, turrents etc. Not having them to slowly regain health. 2. Increasing the population cap (at least in skirmish 9 is WAY too small I think)

BuCkEt!
Repairing turrets isn't neccessary, just sell it and rebuild it. It's great, you can change turrets whenever you want. Personally I'd LOVE to see an episode 1-3 saga. I'd wet myself controlling massive armies of droids backed up by those sweet as tanks seen in Episode 1.
