Moeller those teams can't be mediocre if they had to win against teams like, Duke, UCONN, Memphis and other teams. I think they're the teams that play with the most heart, because the 1 seed teams ussually think they just have to show up to win. Duke was very wrong about that when they got beat by LSU :D

Exactly, they might play with the most heart, but they are not the best teams, I want to see the best teams out there. I have no interest in any of the final 4 teams now. I guess I'll be rooting for UCLA because I have no interest in the other 3.

Wow Darth Moeller. I've got to disagree with you on this one. LSU beat the #1 and #2 seeds in their bracket. UCLA beat the #3 and #1 teams in their bracket. IMO they've proved they're the best teams in their tourney bracket. George Mason and Florida earned their berths too but they didn't have to go through as many top-ranked teams as LSU and UCLA. I understand that you may not like any of the teams that are left and thus have lost most of your interest in the NCAA tourney but the teams that are left have proved by virtue of winning instead of losing. I don't see how one can dispute that.

On a tangential note, I do think that this year's NCAA tourney demonstrates more than ever before how some teams can be better than others on any given day but are generally the weaker team. If the NCAA used a 5-games or 7-games playoff format like the NBA I'm sure that the tourney standings would be much different than they are now. But it would take forever to get thru a 64-teams playoff bracket if that were the case! :D

You can't really think LSA has more talent than Duke does, come on. I think if they replayed that game, Duke would win every time, that was Redick's worst shooting performance possible.

But I'm biased because I worship Duke :xp:

Actually, DUKE wasn't really deep this year, as in years previous. They had absolutely no bench. If it weren't for Reddick, they probably wouldn't have even been a #1 seed, which I personally feel they didn't deserve.

I'm not tryin' to flame, I understand you are a DUKIE. My cousin graduated from Duke and my grandma has "Duke Grandparent" stickers all over her car, but the fact still remains. These are one game, once in a lifetime opportunities and LSU, Geoge Mason, Florida and UCLA all came to play.

...and it showed on the court.

At no time was George Mason intimidated by UConn.

Nova just plain disintigrated.

Memphis is choc-full-of freshman, look for them to be around next year.

Oh come on! Upsets. Buzzer beaters. This is what the tournament is all about! :)

But Wouldn't you much rather see Duke, UConn, Gonzaga and Boston College, or other powerhouse teams in the final four rather than Florida, LSU, George Mason, and UCLA? I'm fine with a cinderella team, but when all 4 final 4 teams are underdogs, the games aren't very exciting to me because they feature the kind of teams that I would turn off during the regular season.

I just want to see great games. And to that end I think this tournament is the perhaps the best ever. I have my favorites, like Duke, but having underdogs win is a lot of fun and great for the game.

or other powerhouse teams
They obviously weren't powerhouse enough this year. :)

I didn't get to watch the games tonight but from the sounds of it both of them were anti-climatic.

So we've got a Florida-UCLA final. Anybody want to make a prediction on who will come out on top?

I say UCLA will win their what, 12th title? Or some ludicrously high number like that anyway.

You were right in the end Moel. The Final Four was ****.
And the final wasn't any better. Ugly like :jab1

Man I can't believe the Final Four and the championship sucked so bad after the first four rounds were so good. It was like there was no competition at the end.
