The Revolution is still powerful but still cheap because they didn't want HD resolution. So same graphics with less power required, which is a good thing. Because I only know two people who have an HDTV and they don't even have video games.

The game looks like HL2 in graphics and as long as the shooting is smooth, the game is cheap, and has another perk such as MP or something like that it should do good.

I hope they still compare to HL2 graphics once Valve upgrades the Source Engine again. They're upgrading it for CSS and adding HDR to all the games (except HL: Source), so I figure it's only a matter of time before the CSS upgrades are used for HL2.

I can just imagine Sadness with the whole oldskool camera effect happening. I seriously can't wait to see this game in action.

I found a console cheat one time in HL2 that made it black and white. I played a little bit with that on and it was actually pretty cool.

Now, if they add post-processing; like making it grainy and adding motion blur, and maybe even some depth of field, then it would be even better.

Yeah, I can see that as well, the devs had just better make sure it's a "film noir" (and, yes, I know how it's spelled, I'm just too lazy to insert the accented character :xp: ) -type game, most gamers now are obsessed with graphics instead of gameplay.

I seriously can't wait for rev now. Especially if it's released this christmas. I don't care if I have to sell my soul to satan to get one, I'm getting one.

If all goes as planned, it will be released before thanksgiving.

God, I can't even imagine SSB on rev. And Metroid, god damn. Add in the fact that apparently Twighlight Princess will be able to take advantage of the Revmote, and you've got a hell of a party.

Quick question, is Revoltution the definitiave name? Because it really should stay that.

Yeah, those lucky few people who are heading off to E3 will be the first normal folk who will get to experience the NRV first hand. I'm already ready for E3, It begins with the NIntendo conference where there's definately gonna be a live webfeed from several sources. From IGN to Nintendo themselves. There's gonna be up to the minute updates, from folks all over the net, there's gonna be pics, info, videos, opinions. And that's just the conference. Then you have the actual event where everyone will post stuff about the Nintendo booth, you'll have all these people in their with their cameras, uploading their footage to their site looking around the booth, showing off the NRV in action...

Madness!

At E3 2004, GDC 2005, E3 2005, TGS 2005 and to a lesser extent, GDC 2006, I spent all my time on the net getting up to the minute updates and media. E3 2006 is gonna be bigger than all of those combined.

Shortly after GDC IGN chatted with NoA's senior director of public relations Beth Llewelyn:

IGN: Is Revolution the final name of your new system?

Beth: No, it's not.

IGN: So it's definitely a codename?

Beth: It's a codename.

IGN: And it's going to change?

Beth: It is going to change.

IGN: Great. When are you going to reveal the final name?

Beth: Well, you're going to have to wait and see.

IGN: E3?

Beth: Not quite sure yet.

IGN: Somehow we think that's a lie.

[Laughter]

I thought it was being renamed the Nintendo Go! - or did that turn out to be just a rumour?

I saw an interview with a nintendo guy a few days back where he basically said that the GCN got killed because it didn't have a big enough launch lineup. He said it had a few excelent titles at launch, then there was a big six month drought until some more titles started showing up... and in that short time the impression that there weren't many games for GCN solidified, and then bacame self fulfilling.

So it sounds as if they are definately trying to have a much larger launch lineup this time - I'm pretty sure he mentioned 20 titles.

That was proven to be fake as soon as it was posted up on the net.

Yeah that was an interview with George Harrison. He's so right about the GameCube, it suffered right from Day 1 because it released long after the PS2 and had jack all games for it. Because of that and the purple lunchbox design, the public passed it up. Because of the limited but very clever proprietry disc format, developers passed it up, eventhough it was easier to develop for than the PS2 and allowed developers to do more with less.

For those of you who still think I am some mindless Nintendo fanboy who follows the banner without question, you are so wrong. There was a time during the GameCube era that I was so dissatisfied with Nintendo. The problem was that I was dissatisfied with gaming as a whole and I almost stopped playing videogames altogether. The GCN, PS2, Xbox, were all just past generation tech, but with more power. The games were so tiring and old and I got bored so damn easily since I've played so much.

As fate would have it, a few days later I heard news about the Nintendo DS and I decided to investigate. :D Of course we all know how that turned out. While everyone else was saying it was a gimmick that would never work, I got uber excited cause it was something DIFFERENT. My faith in Nintendo was being restored and Nintendo continued to dazzle me ever since and had rocked my world with the Revolution.

Now I'm on a mission to buy all those GCN games I had passed up in earlier years and I'm so prepared for Nintendo's Revolution.
