Tysyacha
I hate to admit this, but I have what I call "Star Wars Angst." Not only do I wish that there was a Star Wars World/Land as well as a Disney World and a Disneyland, but I also wish that I could get licensed to write Star Wars books. Either that, or have the name of a character I create mentioned in passing in the "Legacy of the Force" series. She wouldn't be a Mary Sue, just a name of a Jedi Knight that might have been in Ben Skywalker's class or a lower servant of Lumiya. The first thing I mentioned might still happen in maybe 25 years. The second? I don't friggin' THINK so. Why? For starters, I only became a die-hard Star Wars fan in 2005, when I played KOTOR II. I've missed out on a LOT of backstory and canon Star Wars non-movie developments. Second of all, and most importantly, Lucas Licensing does not accept any unsolicited work. The "Legacy of the Force" books have already been planned, if not written already (as Betrayal is). Trying to get into the REAL publishing business (not self-publishing) is as hard as trying to tame and ride a drexl when you're only Level 1 in KOTOR. Even if I do go the self- publishing route, Lucasfilm Ltd. will sue me for every penny I've got if I self-publish a Star Wars book. Not the "happy ending" I've craved. As for having my character name mentioned as a blip on the "Legacy of the Force" book radar screen, that is also impossible. "Nothing may be impossible with the Force", but this is. I don't know the authors personally, and this is probably the only way to make this happen. Maybe. *kicks self* Why couldn't I have been an early SW investor??? I know that being a Jedi is not a thing I could do in real life, but just once, I wish I could break through the fog of Star Wars obscurity and "make my mark," so to speak. Just a little one. Minuscule. Teeny-tiny. It's better than nothing, which is what this angsta's got right now! REDJOHNNYMIKE
I'm sure most people here share your sentiments to a certain extent (Oh come on you know you all got the SW bug bad or you wouldn't be here:xp: ), but I'm pretty sure the only way to get George to let you in on some of the action is if your own work surpasses his, and even then he might not. If you really want to write for Lucas then you should be dilligent in practicing your writing skills, try to get quality original works published (and hopefully make some coin;)), just give everything your best and enjoy a good life that doesn't depend solely on Star Wars, when you're more experienced and you get the chance you can take it or decide you don't really need it anymore. Star Wars, while pretty awesome, is a sucky thing to ruin your life worrying about. But whenever you need to scratch the itch there's always fanfics and holowan;)
Jae Onasi
Hey, you're at least famous here. In a good way, that is, before RJM makes a smarty-pants remark. Edit: Or venom_tyrant....

Darth InSidious
George to let you in on some of the action is if your own work surpasses his Given the somewhat...derivative style of the scripts, that's not so terribly hard... *ducks the rotten tomatoes and 'force lightning fingers' of angered fans*

Darth InSidious
Thanks Seriously, Tysyacha, why not write it and send it to the relevant person at LucasPublishing or whatever, and see. If at the end of the day it gets rejected, you could still publish it on something like fanfiction.net, or at the fanfiction thingy here...
