PoiuyWired
Well, 3D? what for? I mean making 3D deathsrats and SSDs and Falcon and what not... has been done a trillion times and game trailers and the like, and seeing it in 3D (kinda like with 3D glasses) won't make it any better except for maybe another awe! at the effects. I do agree that subtle things like fixing the saber colors and (new) sound glitches would be better. And oh, for the record HAN SHOOTS FIRST. PoiuyWired
Well, at least it is not PT... It would be a Health Hazard to see JarJAr's tongue sticking a mile long out of the screen, to say the least. But yes a Twi'lek 3D show would be nice... hmmm. Oh and a rancor would be divine.

CLONECOMMANDER501
It would be like impossible to put Star Wars in 3D, where can they get the tools?
Dantk
Read the article The biggest event of the weekend was today, sunday the 1st, when the audience had the opportunity of watching footage of the 3D version of Star Wars!!! They showed the first few minutes of Episode IV: A New Hope, including the initial text crawl and most of the assault on the tantive. It was followed by a few scenes of the Millenium Falcon and part of the Coruscant speeder chase sequence of Episode II. It was just amazing. It was like being in the corridors of the tantive, with laser beams flying around you, like watching the movie for the first time again. The audience went just crazy, everyone was screaming of joy and clapping constantly with every sequence. If just a few minutes is like this, watching a whole movie can be absolutely awesome. After the projection, Rick McCallum offered a Q&A session where he talked about the process of "dimensioning" a 2D movie, and revealed some very interesting facts. They are trying to refine the process to make it faster and cheaper, so they can convert to 3D all the 6 Star Wars Movies by 2009. He also said that Peter Jackson wants to convert the Lord of the Rings trilogy and James Cameron wants to do the same with the Terminator trilogy and Titanic. They are doing this to promote the introduction of Digital and 3D technologies to the cinema theatre owners, so they upgrade their systems and make possible the creation of new 3D movies designed as such rather than converting existing 2D flicks." RC-1162
Any links just to validate it? If it's true, I really don't mind seeing SW in 3D.
Jeff
I've heard rumors of this for a long time. I hope they're true eventually.
PoiuyWired
TI am really interested in the 2D to 3D converter... Hmmm My vast collection of...errr..."Twi'lek Dancers Interaction Videos" would look much much more interesting with this technology. Hmmm... those "Tchun-Tchin" sticking out of my screen.... Too bad it is not good enough yet for some cheap automated process available on my ancient computers.
TripHammer
I did see an interview one time where George Lucas does explain that the Star Wars story is about Anakin. Irregardless of who the main character is in a particular part of that story.. the story as a whole is about Anakin. His beginning.. his rise.. his fall.. and his redemption. Luke certainly is a big part of the redemption part of the story though. I don't remember where I saw the interview. I'm thinking it might be in one of those interviews that was included for one of the "Re-mastered" releases. The last movie I saw in 3D was Jaws 3. It blew. I liked it much better regular view. I think you'd get that 3D feeling in IMAX. Duel
