Force Sensitive Mandalorians?

The Mandalorians may be pretty Force Sensitive, yes. All living beings are to some extent Force Sensitives, with a few exceptions, like the Yuuzhan Vong, for example. But the Mandalorians are a very closed clan. They do not like mixing with others, and are normally pretty attached to their brethren. Being secluded from he Republic, the Mandalorians do not hold connections with the Jedi Order either, so I don't think any Mandalorian would accept Jedi Training, or send his child for Jedi Training.

Secondly, Mandalorians grow up brainwashed. They grow up believing that war is ultimate, that it is honour in the battlefield, that is all that counts. It may even run in their genes. But Mandalorians are loyalists and I don't recall instances of a Mandalorian rebellion.

As far as the Sith go, there might be incidences of such things happening. But the thing is, once you are a Sith, you are nothing else - not a Jedi, not a Mandalorian, and in cases like Nihilus, not even a human. You can't have a Mandalorian trained in Sith arts and fighting for Mandalore (or the Sith, for that matter).

The Mandalorians are a race that believes in all aspects of war, but disregard the Force (though they respect the Jedi). They will believe that tinkering with the Force is a waste, instead of perfecting one's ability to win a war.

I think that might sum it up. :)

What Mandalorians are you talking about? The Taungs, or the ones in KotOR and later that aren't a whole species? :)

For the former, I don't think many are. The EU hasn't mentioned anything (I've seen) about Force-sensitive Taungs, but then again, they aren't that big a subject.

For the later ones, they're just as sensitive to the Force as the other members of their species. Belonging to a certain organization does nothing to change that.

I think the Taungs would be as Force Sensitive as the humans would. The Force flows through all beings, and I don't think that it is biased over come species. (Save maybe, some who have willfully exempted themselves from it).

Note completely. There are species I've hard of that've had far greater or smaller numbers of Force-sensitives. The Force can be stronger in some people and locations than others, so I think species as a whole could be included.

Perhaps, yes. I think you're right. The Miralukas can stand as a fine example of a Force Sensitive race.

That is what you think the Sith are? Well, for me the Sith are force sensitives who use their emotions to get easier access to the force.

Unfortunately in most games, once someone uses the Dark side, his new "goals" are to destroy the Jedi and the Republic, regardless of what the original goals of that character might have been which could have been selfish... that is kinda lame.

I believe if the Mandalorians were force sensitives, they would make use of the force, using it in their battles for their couse. It would not stop them from being mandalorians.

Those are Dark Jedi, who use the Dark Power of the Force for their own, independent purposes, normally unlinked with the Jedi. The Sith represent a particular idea, a faction, which seeks to find and destroy the Jedi and the Republic and establish their own rule over the galaxy - and revel in their power.

So Count Dooku was a Sith, but Asajj Ventress was a Dark Jedi, like Desann or Tavion and so on.

How many people think that Mandalorians should be Force Sensitive?

I don't but that's my opinion many people may think that Mandalorians should be, but if you ask me that would be WAY to deadly, a Mandalorian who is a Jedi or Sith? I can't fathom it.

I know you dont argee with my story but you didn't have to make a thread about it

Well, Mandalorians could be Force Sensitive, if they fell from their code and way of life. I once tried to write a Fic (Which was inspired by an old Fic here) with a Mandalorian who became a Jedi. It didn't work to be honest, but a Mandalorian Jedi/Sith is better than a Hutt Jedi/Sith in my opinion.

Force Sensitivity is not something you can really turn on and off. For instance if someone is Force Sensitive, and they chose not to become a Jedi or expand on this gift, it doesn't suddenly make them no longer Force Sensitive. They have simply ignored it.

As Emperor Devon so accurately put it, there is absolutely no reason some KotOR-era Mandalorians wouldn't be Force Sensitive. However all the Force Sensitivity in the galaxy probably wouldn't do you much good unless you (1) realize you are Force Sensitive, and (2) get adequate Jedi/Sith training to exploit this sensitivity.

Pretty close. The difference between a Dark Jedi and a Sith is a fine line. Basically if you're following Sith teachings and using the dark side of the Force you are a Sith. If you are doing whatever the heck you feel like doing and not following Sith teachings, but still frying the heck out of everything in your way, you're simply a dark Jedi. Even the term "dark Jedi" is kind of inaccurate, as it suggests the person in question is a fallen Jedi. There's really no good term for someone who comes into their Force Sensitivity without any formal training and becomes a dark Force user. Hey, that's not a bad term after all...

I would suspect that if an average Mandalorian because Force Sensitive and acted on that sensitivity, he or she would be a dark Force user, simply because of the way Mandalorians are brought up. You can't say all would be that way, however, because I'm sure there were Mandalorians that weren't arrogant killing machines like most of the Mandalorians you hear of.

Not totally. Sith are people who use the dark side of the Force, and are official members of the Sith Order. Anyone else who uses the dark side but isn't a member of the Sith is a Dark Jedi.

Nope, Dark Jedi is it. There've been ones before who've had no formal training.

Ah.. so that's the difference between Sith and Dark Jedi. I never truly understood that.

Still it seems odd to me that the "Dark Jedi" represent such evil bad guys then. And there really should be more of them, after all it is not realistic for so many people to serve the greater good, just because you're gifted.

I suppose that would explain why so many Jedi left the order to follow Malak so willingly. ;)

It doesn't seem to me that there were any other socially acceptable options. Plus, are your parents going to send you to a Sith academy to learn how to maim and destroy at the tender age of 4-ish? Think of it in a social context.

If you'll read again, that's basically exactly what I said. I simply qualified it by saying Sith follow Sith teaching. The Sith Order follows Sith teachings, therefor if you are a member of the Sith Order, you then follow Sith teachings. Catch ma drift?

If they were following Sith teachings, then they were Sith. There's no Sith god that approves people/groups. You can also claim to be Sith and not be a Sith. For instance if you don't go to church, read the bible, or do anything religious, you can still claim to be Christian. The truth runs deeper than words, however. It relies on actions.
