Obi-Wan Baloney
What is it and what use does it have in the Star Wars world? Is it like the suit Luke wears in Ep.5 at Hoth?
Emperor Devon
Nope, it's unique to TSL.

Emperor Devon
As you can't fly any starfighters in TSL, no.

Emperor Devon
The purpose of Luke's flight suit was to be worn in a starfighter. Since you asked if it had the same purpose, I told you it couldn't and why not. If you were trying to ask something you didn't type, ask it directly. I can't read your mind. innocent
Actually, Luke's suit was intended not only to be a pilot's suit, but also to protect the wearer from decompression, physical impacts, and minor trauma. I would argue that the Armored flight suit does in fact suit those purposes farily well. The fact that you can't fly starfighters is unimportant, because TSL strives to create a fully realized version of Star Wars to the degree possible in a game. That meant leaving out fighters, but the suit could still be useful if something goes wrong on the Ebon Hawk (as it so often does )
Obi-Wan Baloney
Does it look like his suit? And in Episode 5, Luke wears it in the battle running around. In Star Wars Battlefront 2, on Hoth you can play as Luke wearing the suit, chopping down Stormtroopers! It could probably be used as a capable armor despite it space origins, right? In Star Wars Battlefront 2, on Hoth you can play as Luke wearing the suit, chopping down Stormtroopers! The only reason Luke was in his Flight Suit is because he had no time or desire to change out of it on Hoth and there was that pesky AT-AT he had to deal with, also he was later slated to fly his X-Wing. It could probably be used as a capable armor despite it space origins, right? All the suit does is provide some personal environmental assistance. It's capability as an actual space-suit is unknown as the helmets used didn't provide an environmental seal, nor were any protrusions present on the back or belt of the suit to seemingly provide power and environment as a space suit would need. Flight Suits are not normally armor in any event.

I reckon that these suits seal themselves instantauneously, after the eject button is pressed, forming an air capsule around the pilot. So, hands, head, all of the pilot's body is protected on space, however, the oxygen available in the capsule is limited, during just a few minutes, enough for a rescue team to pick him up. There would need to be far more than that as rescues come after a battle is over and that can mean hours to days before being picked up.
stoffe
Space seems to work differently in Star Wars though, seeing as how Han, Leia and Chewie didn't mind exiting the Falcon on a tiny asteroid without any atmosphere wearing only breath masks in The Empire Strikes Back. True, when the Rebels in Return of the Jedi, before taking off to the Death Star, are walking around in the ship with no energy shield protecting them from space, same thing with many games such as Battlefront 2. True. But it's better than giving up living. At least he got a chance of survival. Mmmm. I doubt that. There should have been some kind of air bubble inside that astertoid, since they were inside of that worm, it would make sense. Sure you can argue: "But, hey! Wait a minute! They didnt know they were inside of that thing!" And my awnser would probalbly be: "Maybe this is not uncommon in caves on asteroids, like underwater caverns... And not everyone is graduated on hyperspace physics, you know."
RedHawke
True. But it's better than giving up living. At least he got a chance of survival. A few minutes is hardly a 'chance' in the vastness of space... days of consumables not minutes, that's the key.

Well, if the Rebels win the battle perchance, then they would immediatly sweep the aea looking for survivors. The book isnt actually specific about this, but probally there's a comm device or something that emmits a signal for any nearby vessel (Rebel or not). Of course this may only works near planets or any celestial body, but how many battles occur on the hyperspace anyway?

Immediately isn't the word I would use... it takes time for the rescue craft to arrive and start their work. Of course this may only works near planets or any celestial body, but how many battles occur on the hyperspace anyway? Actually if you have the time and inclination the old West End Games D6 RPG books have a plethora of examples of this, the equipment and even how ejection works as well as space battle cleanup, or what happens if there is a lack thereof. But we are going off-topic at this point so I'll leave it at that...
PoiuyWired
Probably to avoid a boring scene of them putting on space suits. Movies do that stuff all the time. You mean seeing Leia changing on screen is not entertaining? As for the armored flight suit, its a flight suit with better protection. BUT remember that kotor is many many years before the skywalkers, so the tech is slightly lower.
Obi-Wan Baloney
I found that it looks nothing like a flight suit that I thought it would. It looks exactly like the Ubese Environmental Suit.
