Diego Varen
as are you, Doctor lolz mtfbwya Anyway, 42 was an improvement over the previous episode and usually I'm not a big fan over the episodes set in the future. Acting was great, the storyline was great and it wasn't set on or near Earth for once. It reminded me slightly of The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit story. Looking foward to next week's two parter. Yesterday, I also got the Tom Baker episode, Pyramids of Mars on DVD. Good episode, although I wasn't really paying attention to it, so I'll have to watch it again soon. Like Topsite said, here in the UK, a season is referred to as "a series", and generally, if we are referring to the show as a whole, we normally call it "the series", because we're insane. Also a "season" in the UK usually only lasts for perhaps 8 episodes, although it be sometimes as low as 6. I agree and at "because we're insane". Series in the UK are usually short, while American seasons are around 25 episodes. I'm not sure, since I only own American series like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Family Guy and The Simpsons and they have more episodes than most UK shows. I'm saying a lot tonight, so I should keep quiet until next week or some other good topic to do with Doctor Who comes up.
King Dando
Yesterday, I also got the Tom Baker episode, Pyramids of Mars on DVD. Good episode, although I wasn't really paying attention to it, so I'll have to watch it again soon. It is good. Especially those robot mummies I liked 42, although I laughed at the beginning as I wondered how they could be that close to a Sun, and not be dead already. I need to watch it again though, I was ill earlier and my attention span was around about zero.
Diego Varen
I watched Pyramids of Mars and it was good. Anyway, I read on Wikipedia that Russell T. Davies was going to have Britney Spears star as a sex-obessesed alien (Torchwood anyone?). Why? It was a joke from Russell himself and I think so far that he has written my least favourite episodes on the show, other than the final two parters of each series. Aash Li
You must be American since here in England and the UK, we call it series. Also, I've only seen Jon Pertwee once and that is in The Three Doctors, which I own on DVD. Yes, I must be... but thanks for informing me.

I think we can safely say that was a joke. He's welsh.

Diego Varen
Today, I recieved the Peter Davison serial, Earthshock. I'm currently watching it now and Human Nature is on tonight at BBC 1 at 7:15pm. I'm missing it tonight, since I'm going out, but I'm going to watch it on BBC 3 tomorrow. This two-parter looks better than the previous one. Trex
No reviews of Saturday's episode yet? Fair enough, I'll get the ball rolling. To be honest, I didn't enjoy the previous two episodes as the rest of the series. They were alright, but it did just feel like another monster running after them for another forty-five minutes. Last night's episode though : I loved it. A cool, original angle to write from, some nice freaky aliens and fun cliffhanger. Can't wait til next week. Diego Varen
I forgot that I also taped last night's episode and I wasn't disappointed. Human Nature is great and a different story from the norm. Yes, the Doctor suffers with amnesia again, but he does it for a reason and it is up to Martha to save the day. I like it and this is so far the best episode of series 3. I agree with Trex. Good episode and I can't wait to next week either. Also, Trex, could I borrow the Mr. Saxon pic, if I credit you? I need to watch Earthshock again. I wasn't concentrating last time I was watching it. Edit: I bought the Lost in Time compilation DVD and the Remembrance of the Daleks episode.
Trex
Also, Trex, could I borrow the Mr. Saxon pic, if I credit you? Go for it. Spread the word. All must be warned of the evil of Saxon etc. (add manic laughter) As an extra note, just started reading about a rather popular rumor that Kylie is signed up for this year's christmas special. Don't know if I'm allowed to link to another forum, but I found it on one of the main Doctor who ones if you want to look it up yourself.

Diego Varen
I've read on The Sun website provided by the bottom of this Doctor Who page on Wikipedia. It says the show will get axed in 2008, after the fourth series. Read more on the first link, if you want to find out more.
Darth InSidious
1) Harold Godwinson (reigned Jan-Oct 1066) succeeded St. Edward the Confessor (reigned 1043-1066) as King of England, but was defeated by William the Bastard of Normandy at Hastings in 1066, who ruled from 1066 to 1087. There was a brief reign between Harold and William of Edgar Aetheling, but he was never crowned, and his rule didn't last. This is elementary English history... 2) Doctor, criticising the Pertwee era for being largely earthbound is a little rich when we consider that, despite a much freer budget, Russell Nathan-Turner has decided to keep the Doctor almost always within the Solar System. 3) The Hinchcliffe/Holmes era stories (of which 'Pyramids of Mars' is a fine example) own any of your naff RussellWho, nice special effects or no. 4) 42 was flat, but Human Nature was simply the best story that the New Trash administration have managed to put together. Partly because it wasn't written by them, but as a Seventh Doctor novel, and it succeeds in sticking pretty close to the original (albeit with some necessary changes for the sake of plotting, and the constraints of a 90 minute running time). I'm not going to go too much on what The Sun says though. According to tabloid speculation over the recent years : - The Ice warriors will return. (mirror) - The Rani will return. (Sun again) - The Doctor has a son. (Daily Star, and later publicly denied by Russell T Davies) - Britney Spears will the join the cast as an evil alien. (Daily Star) - John Simm will be playing the master. ( Sun again, although this one might actually...well you know) - Micheal Sheen will play the Master (Sun again again, and after they had said the above) - For the first time ever, we will see Daleks able to climb stairs (News of the World, which is basically the sun on sundays) -For the first time ever, we will see what a Dalek looks like under the casing (NOTW again) Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is, I'm not going to start worrying until Russell T Davies himself makes an official announcement about it. HerbieZ
The Sun prints crap. They have dished out so many rumours on Dr Who since it has been airing that everyone just ignores it. I have heared every rumour around originate from them and they are mostly lies. I still don't understand why people read and believe that pile of crap. The Doctor
Besides, even if Davies and the entire executive team resign, Doctor Who will live on anyway. How do you think the show lasted 26 seasons? You think it had the same production team the whole time? No, Doctor Who will be around for a little while even after Davies resigns - that's if the Sun can be believed on this point. I've just recently seen Human Nature, and I must say, it's top notch stuff. Shows off Tennant's abilities, as well. Can't wait for the conclusion. Looks fantastic! HerbieZ
I just saw the last part of the two parter that aired. It was the best episode of Dr Who ever. It was absolutely fantastic. Well rounded episode, im so impressed with it.

Next week is an episode like Love and Monsters, but it looks a lot more interesting this time.
Trex
Definitely a good episode. I think that baddie may have also become my favorite of the new series so far (Will have to look up the actor's name). That long speech will all the 'sirs' in it had me beaming.

King Dando
Human Nature/The Family of Blood were IMO, the best episodes of the series so far. I'm wondering what the series finale will be like compared to this!
The Doctor
Yes, definitely a great episode. Best since Father's Day, in my opinion. Funny, it had the same writer, if I recall correctly... Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the episode after next, when we finally see Jack re-join the TARDIS crew, even if just for a few episodes. I fell in love with the character in Torchwood, and can't wait to see him back in the TARDIS.

Apparently they're going to follow the tradition of the news seasons and go with another 2 parter to finish of this series, don't know much about the plot of the 2 parter, but it seemed like it would be good looking at the name of the last episode in the series The Last Of The Time Lords
