Darth InSidious
Yes, the diabolical emperor of the planet Mongo (and the cosmos) now makes his appearance in KotOR! He and his robes are available...and so, ALL CREATURES WILL MAKE MERRY...UNDER PAIN OF DEATH! From the readme: Ming the Merciless head skin and robe for SW:KotOR v1.0 ======================================================= By Darth InSidious Introduction ------------ One of my first mod requests, even before I became a modder, was for a head and robe skin for Ming the Merciless, from the immortally tacky 1980 film, Flash Gordon. After I became a modder, I rather forgot this mod idea, until prompted again by an avatar of RedHawke's. And so, without further ado, here is a new head based upon that of Ming the Merciless, and a new robe, based upon his robes. I started work, got a bit stuck making the robes and forgot about them until Inyri reminded me and prodded me over them. That, and I needed a Christmas mod. Now, if only there were an item in KotOR I similar to the dancer outfit in KotOR II - "fetch the bore-worms!" Description ----------- This mod adds a new head to the game, loosely based on Max von Sydow's Ming the Merciless in the 1980 film and/or running joke, Flash Gordon. It also adds a robe, also based upon the film, which has been placed in the tomb of Naga Sadow, in the same container as Naga Sadow's Poison Blade. Installation ------------ To install this mod, just open "Install Ming The Merciless Head Mod v1.0 by Darth InSidous", and click "Install Mod". Uninstallation To uninstall this mod, delete the mod files from your SWKotOR\Override folder, and restore any backup files in the 'backup' folder created by the patcher in the same directory as the patcher. Known Bugs --------- I have noticed that there is a slight issue with the Brotherhood of Shadow mod, where Matilda can end up with the icon for the Ming head - however, I believe this is a problem to do with the BoS, and not with this mod. This issue will not otherwise affect your game, however. Also, this skin was not designed for T7 or RedHawke's Darth Revan robes/PMBJ/Star Forge robes remodel with the cape, hood, and belt added on. The texture will look...bad with these models, and I advise on basis of aesthetics that you remove either of these remodels before installing this mod. As above, not doing so won't break your game, either. Robespierre
LOL. DI, did you know that "Ming the Merciless" was in fact that nickname given to Australian Prime Minister Robert Menzies? Hilarious. I do know that Ming was a character in Flash Gordon comics, but I'm downloading this mod just for that.
