Zargon
Mmmm... expensive-to-look-at boobies! Work yesterday was long... but chill. The student bands were pretty simple, and attitudes were at a minimum. I didn't even have to mix: We just hired a new guy on our staff, and he has been enthusiastic about learning all the equipment, so I threw him at the board for the show. Worked out good. I may not even report to work today: One of our main audio-gear vendors is throwing an expo, and I think I'll go to that for a while, and see what's new, and attend a few of the discussions and demonstrations. My boss is actually speaking on one of the panels, so I guess I'll definitely have to attend that one if nothing else. But, I think I'll bow out a bit early this year, and just come home and catch up on some rest before jumping into the weekend at work. I'm already wiped out... and I have long days/ late nights tomorrow and Saturday. Laundry all day Sunday is what it's looking like now, too... hooray. last time I went to a strip club, I spent less than it cost me to take the woman out for an OK meal and a drink each and I had more drinks and saw more boobs

Rogue15
lol went out to explore the locations of some temp agencies and fill out applications while there....but they all told me to fill them out online. wasted gas.... damn it. I can't wait until payday. I'm gonna get a month membership to the gym and go there alot. i went for a few minutes today, to pick up my friend, i was able to bench 95 with no problem, I want to focus on upper body strength. wondering if i should blow off the insurance job interview...i don't really feel like going out and buying 'business attire' or suffering through a 2 hour interview...or wasting gas to get there...but hell, i'll do it. Haven't been playing any video games lately. They make me depressed for some reason... I'm planning on going out and checking for an apartment next month, i'm thinking of sharing one with my friends, makes it easier. It would be kind of cool if we could all rent a house. Work is going to be boring tomorrow. I am scheduled 3-11. Hopefully i can find stuff to keep busy. My sinuses are still bugging me. I'll probably have to see a doctor. hooray for health insurance! I'm mad at cable tv...whenever I go to watch tv, there is nothing on that interests me, or there is a movie but it's almost over. maybe i should learn to work the DVR that came with it...but this would require me to look for stuff i want to watch later....when i want to watch something NOW...i guess that's where they get you with in-demand. -_- well, if i ever stop posting on here, you can all assume that i am on my mission. I'm planning to stop all internet activity so that i can focus on getting my life together and moving forward. I've got my goals set, i just need to focus... Rogue15
15: You should really get out and do something, ANYTHING, if that is how you feel. Do something different. Take a drive somewhere you never go or something. Sitting around the house steeping in it never does you any good. I know of whence I speak on this. Spent way too much of my life so far doing just that. best advice i ever got online.
edlib
Well... glad I could help! I'll wish you good luck and Godspeed on achieving your goals now, 15... just in case you disappear in the near future. I hope the path you choose helps you get to where you wish to be in life. I wish I was a bit better at taking my own advice, however... I'm just as guilty of getting stuck in a rut (if not more guilty...) and being depressed about it as anyone, even though I really know better. However: I have decided to give that number a call tomorrow. I asked her what would be a good time to make it, so I wouldn't be disturbing her at work or when she is spending time with her kids. So that's something out of the ordinary for me, I guess... I'm still working hard to not build this up into something epic in my mind. I'll just give a call and see if we really have anything in common... She sent me a couple of messages in the last 24 hours that made me believe that it probably is a genuine person at the other end. I'm still not lowering my guard all the way... but **** it! I have to take a chance at least once in my life. Work was good yesterday. Nanci Griffith. Good show. It was a long day (just as I knew it would be...) but we got a lot of projects done between my am meeting, and before we started setting up for the show. At least I felt productive yesterday. There are so many days at work that doesn't happen.
Rogue15
I gotta work 12-8 tomorrow. i am debating whether i want to go to the bankers life and casualty interview on monday. I don't really have any 'business attire' to wear, plus i'm at half a tank of gas. ok **** that ****. i googled it, and it is a scam. **** that ****. (read that there's like 2 group interviews and then 1 on 1 interview where you need to bring in a check and they can take money and put money into your account as they see fit) so i'm going to email the recruiter person back and tell her i found something else. (which i did...) i'll go temping instead, it's more fun and i'll be able meet some more people my age. (and even increasing my chances of meeting that special girl lol) edit: i went and mailed out the letter. i don't feel any guilt, not after reading what people who have worked at that place have to suffer. holy crap...just google 'bankers life and casualty scam' if you wanna see why i refuse to waste my time. edlib
Work was easy yesterday. The show was "meh." Idina Menzel. Normally she's a Broadway singer. (She was in "Rent" and "Wicked" I guess...) She was doing pop songs with a band. Kinda weak. She was cute... but seemed really awkward on stage. And the songs on the set list seemed a bad choice. But the audience went absolutely bat-**** berserk for her... so what do I know? It's laundry day!!! Hooray!!! My Myspace lady friend told me that she works until 4. I'll be calling her sometime after that. I still really don't know what to think... but we'll see how it goes. It may just turn out that we may have nothing in common... but it's worth a call to find out, I suppose.

edlib
My place doesn't serve food/ beverages/ alcohol. Which doesn't bother me the slightest... everything stays clean and the place doesn't smell. It does limit the types of acts that get booked here... but that doesn't bother me all that much either. I'm busy enough.
Kuuki
kinda odd, imho, usualy where you get places that have live acts, might serve something.. although, i can be wrong, i might be thinking that the place where you work is setup much much different then what ive seen so its basically a theatre? edlib
Well... called her. We talked for about 15 minutes. She seems pretty normal. She was busy with her kids, so she said that she would call me back later tonight. This could turn out to be an interesting experience.

edlib
Yeah... he have nice gear, the room sounds nice, and we usually don't book bands that would tear the the place up... or have an audience that would. The pictures on our site are pretty old though. I'll post a few of the newer ones when I get a chance.

edlib
She called back last night after her kids were down for the night, and we talked for about an hour... until she just got too tired to keep going. It seemed to go well. (At least as well as the nervous, awkward first conversation between two almost total strangers in the very opening rounds of playing the mating game could ever go, anyway.) We haven't made any plans about meeting in person yet, but she says she's gonna call me again today. I skipped out on doing all my laundry yesterday... but I don't regret it. It was such a nice day that I had to get out-of-doors for a while, take a couple-hour walk, clear my head, and focus my thoughts on how I feel about all this new and unexpected activity in my life. Keyan Farlander
Was up until 4:30 recording music, so I'm on 3 hours of sleep. From the experience, I learned this - I am not a good singer.

edlib
My co-op buddy and I went to pick up Gears 2 tonight... but the line at the game store was ridiculous... so we skipped it for now. Maybe tomorrow. I came to the conclusion today that when she calls back that I'm just going for it... try to figure out a time and place we can meet up face to face. She seems really into me (for some unknown, inexplicable reason... but I'm not complaining!) so I would be a total idiot to not run with it while I have the chance. If it doesn't pan out and things don't seem to click between us once we meet, then I still haven't lost anything... I'll just be in the same spot I was a week ago. But if it does pan out... Well... jus' sayin': Somebody here better be prepared to take up the slack in this thread in my absence,.. 'cuz my plan is to be posting a lot less in the future.
