Lil Kis
Ok their both platformers....but this game is as fun gameplay wise and Super Mario Galaxy but this game also focuses on a story and has cut scenes and FMV's and voice acting while that game doesn't! This game should of got a better rating than that game...that game is overrated because of this game!

Thrik
It's best not to get too caught up on comparing games like this. Mario is one of the oldest and most loved game characters ever, so any new Mario platform game is going to attract an absolutely monumental amount of raving from gamers and the media alike. Indeed, one of Psychonauts' biggest problems was that it wasn't advertised and marketed too well, with a lot of people still having never even heard of it. Mario on the other hand has enjoyed a huge amount of advertising and thus more people will play it. Sadly, that's how the games industry works. Admittedly, Mario Galaxy does push gameplay forward more than Psychonauts did. This is mainly because of the very clever gravity-based gameplay, which hadn't really been done to any significant extent in a platform game before. Psychonauts was a bit more traditional in its approach, albeit very good at it. Psychonauts was largely about setting traditional gameplay in a cool context (underwater bubble, board game, painting, etc). Mario has always been about pure gameplay, which it always does very well at and sets new standards. Tim Schafer (designer of Psychonauts) has always been about awesome stories; awesome characters; and awesome worlds, with gameplay kind of coming second to that. He's primarily a funny storyteller. It's possible to enjoy both in their own ways!
Lil Kis
This game was better than I thought...I wonder why this game was playable on Xbox 360's and not Oddworld Stranger's Wrath and Advent Rising...I bought those two games with Psychonauts thinking they would all be playable on my Xbox 360 and only Psychonauts was...when will they have updates for compatibiliy? Also I beat Super Mario Galaxy and while it was a fun game it and I completed everything in it got 100% it became a lil bit of a chore sometimes cuz there was no story really and voice acting... itchythesamurai
There's voice acting in Mario! Don't undermine Charles Martinet's work!
martmeister
Yeah, everybody knows Mario. It doesn't matter what the Mario Bros are in, someone will like it. Maybe not Galaxy, but Paper, or Super 1-4, the Smash Bros, the racing, etc. Other words, for Psychonauts to have a bigger fan base, they need a bigger fan base. (Yes, it's Catch-22).
